HELP: RGB Color 8 bit, 16 bit, or 32 bit??

I'm not sure what this all means...but which is the standard to use??? 8 bit, 16 bit, or 32 bit? I have a feeling my settings got changed. I use CS3.

If you want the majority of your filters available, set it to 8bit. 16 and 32 put limits on which filters and such you can use.
 
I was wondering if that was why when I was trying to use a template it was warning me about the "convert" or something like that...thinking that it had been changed and wasn't sure what to do.
 
Hmmm...I've had that warning before with templates...trying to remember what caused it. I can't remember anymore (I got that warning a few times when I first started doing templates a few years back), but it's not your settings for sure. :) I think it may be the settings of the person who created the templates.
