Help me with styles

I am a huge fan of styles but everytime I bought them I simply cannot get them to work.

The only styles that did work, are Jenn's shadow styles. But there the metadata file was also delivered.....

I guess it's necessary to have a metadatafile to get it to work because I think I put the ASL files in the correct folder.

Can someone please help me?

Awhile back, when I had PSE 6, I absolutely could not get styles to work either. I worked for a long time with customer support at another site to get it set up, but they were totally perplexed. Once I got a new version, they worked just fine. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I hope you can get yours figured out!

in PSE you do need to update your metadata file each time you install new ones for styles to work. in CS no updating should be necessary.

I have CS5, but all I do is go to styles - load styles and then find them in my folder and click on them, and they appear. I would have no idea about metadata files and all that fun stuff.

I have PSE11. Adobe finally put styles in the preset manager in this version. Hooray!

If you're using a previous version, you manually place the files into the appropriate folder and then rename the metadata file so that it rebuilds itself.

They have instructions for pretty much every version of PSE and for both Mac and Windows.

I really do love how easy it is to install styles in PSE11 though. I was able to install in previous versions using the instructions on Digital Scrapper, but I really prefer just being able to use the preset manager.
