Help Me out!

Brodo gettin her Swerb on
Soooo, for the first time in my LIFE I actually won something awesome from a random drawing, lol. I won a 1 week free rental from Borrowlenses.com from MCP Actions!!

I'm finding out if there are any restrictions on what I can rent, but what would you do? I was going to get either the 85mm or 30/35 mm to try them out, but they are so cheap it almost seems like a waste, you know? I can afford to try those out on my own. Those are 2 of the lenses on my wishlist, so that's why I was thinking about them.

So yea, assuming I can rent ANYTHING I WANT, what would YOU rent?
(I own the Nikon D80, and my most used lenses are the Nikon 50mm, and the Tamron 28-75mm.)

I have no clue...just wanted to say congratulations that sounds pretty cool. I would probably get the best lens that fits what I normally photograph. Since I have no idea what lens is what really I would have no recomendation other then thatLOL

I would rent the 24-70 2.8 woweee. Its a lens that I don't think I myself could ever justify purchasing but would be fun to play with i think :)

Only problem is you don't want to rent a lens that you fall head over heels in love with but you don't want to buy. haha :)

I see you have the tamron version but i've heard the nikon version is soo much better.

I had the 85mm and did love it.. sometimes I wish i hadn't returned it (exchanged it for an external flash)

Yea I've already rented the Nikon version before, that's why I ended up getting the Tamron one, lol. The Nikon version IS much better, but I won't be able to afford that for a LONG time, lol.

Congrats!!!

I would rent something that I really wanted to shoot with, but wouldn't use enough to justify purchasing. I'd probably factor in the possiblitys of I might shoot/had scheduled to shoot/events etc during the week I had the lens.

My choice in this order:
--100mm macro could get some fun/interesting things with that
--fisheye
--a wishlisted lens

Hm. If I wouldn't want to use it to try out possible purchases, then probably a pricey macro and do all sorts of fun shots. I love good macro images, but wouldn't normally buy an extra lens for it.

I'm not really interested in macro, lol. If we were going anywhere anytime soon I would rent a wide angle (I'm going to rent a wide angle when we go to Ireland next year, for example). But we're not. And I don't really have any "events" that I have, or special things I would want to shoot. So that's why I'm kinda having trouble. I *could* rent the 85mm for our friends wedding, but that's not til October and I don't know that I want to wait that long, you know?

I'm in a pickle, lol.

Heh, ok. No macro then. But btw, make sure you have a wide angle for Ireland. Trust me, there is sooo much pretty landscape, you wanna catch it all (bf is Nothern Irish, been there, done that :)).

Hmmm, maybe a really cool tele? So you can sneak up on people without them noticing? Or do a few wildlife shots?

I'd probably get a telescopic lens. Tony has one, I forget which and his camera bag is gone with him, so I can't check...but I know he was eyeing another one as well. Something LONG distance so you can spy on people hahaha!

congrats! Id get a fisheye lens. I love the cool shots you can take with a fisheye. Id love to get my hands on one just to play with for awhile. I need to see if theres a similar site for aussies.

I am jealous you own such awesomeness Angie.

I'm thinking of either that one, one of the wide angle ones just to play with, or the 105mm f/2.0.
