help me find a new mouse

I am having a tough time with finding a new mouse. I have always used a very very basic one (lohitech M100) but it works for me and they have slightly changed the model and the scroll wheel is not the same and it is quite literally driving me insane. I can't focus on anything other than how not smooth it is when using it... soo i'm on the lookout for a new mouse if anyone wants to help or has ideas lol

1. i'm pretty cheap
2. it has to work for left handed so it can't be a mouse that's curved for using your right hand only
3. IT HAS TO HAVE A SMOOTH SCROLL WHEEL :crying:
4. i prefer WIRED
5 quiet clicking if possible as well lol
If anyone has a mouse that fits the above criteria please let me know :D:wub:

I've bought 3 from amazon and have returned them all.. I'm not picky about a lot of things but when I am... I really am. LOL!

I have a Razer Naga Trinity mouse. It's fantastic. It's curved to fit my right hand but they may sell a left hand version. The scroll wheel has a click to it as I roll it with my finger... is that what you mean by not smooth?

Ok, they don't have the Naga Trinity in a left-hand version, but this one looks AMAZING: Razer Viper Ultralight Ambidextrous Wired Gaming Mouse: Fastest Mouse Switch in Gaming - 16,000 DPI Optical Sensor - Chroma RGB Lighting - 8 Programmable Buttons - Drag-Free Cord

People say the scroll wheel is super smooth too. (PS: I always gravitate to a gaming mouse- they're often the best designed, smooth and responsive for drawing and selection tools, comfortable in the hand, and designed to last a LOT of clicks which is great for graphic design, too.)

ok i will look into it!! that is pretty pricey but if it lasts maybe it's worth it. The m100 mouse is SO basic and cheap but i think it was just the feel in my hand and the scroll wheel that had me sold for so long. It's like an extension of my hand at this point... lol

It's so hard to adjust to a new mouse for that very reason... it becomes your hand. The price usually reflects the longevity of the mouse, but definitely shop around. Ben and Aaron are mouse snobs and we always buy Razer.

I had a problem with my computer a couple weeks ago and a friend that is a computer tech came over to look at it. He hated the feel of my mouse... until he went into the control panel to adjust the scroll of it! He couldn't believe I liked it where it was. The first time I scrapped after that, the scroll setting was too much for me so I went into settings and changed it. It's not where it was to begin with but about halfway between where I had it and where he had it.

So I guess I'm saying, did you try changing the scroll settings in Windows (if you use Windows)?

I will look into that too!

My biggest worry with a wireless mouse is that i'm going to just walk off with it in my hand haha.. I do that with my apple pencil and then I never know where I put it :/ lol

I am still so blown away by the apple pencil. It is all kinds of magical witchcraft amazingness.

It really is!

I have this skin for it and it has helped me find it a little better when I walk off with it. I know how much you LOVE orange so maybe you'd like this too :P

I love this thread! Thank you for all the recommendations. I use my mouse ambidextrously. I've been using the Logitech M720. It's decent, but my hands hurt by the evening (thus using both hands!).

So I am hugely picky with the mouse I use - and probably spent way too much time researching mice before I purchased any of them. I have a few favorites, but all of them are Logitech

This one is one that my sister has and I borrowed to see how it felt and it was awesome. They have a left handed version too. It looks funky but is super comfortable, the scrolling was very quiet and you can customize the buttons (and adjust scroll etc.)

This one is wireless (so that may not be something you like) and it isn't cheap but I think for what you get it is reasonable.

I am using one of their scroll ball ones now - though I have the MX Master Mouse on my Christmas list (it may work left handed I'm not sure) I haven't seen the tracker one in left handed though.
