Help me Chop it off....

ok I think it's time....my hair is going to be donated to locks of love as I have more than met the 10" requirement...the problem is, that even though I had chin length hair nearly my entire life up until the last few years, I've grown quite attached!

K so my face is rather round, naturally and I'd like to keep my hair at least medium length but it needs some really cute style! So help a girl out!

Here's some I came up with:

oh and I have SUPER thick hair..like REALLY thick so that hairstylists always get pissed and my hair take about 3 hours to cut and dry..and it's naturally kinda wavy so I have to use a straight iron on it..LOL

I love that 2nd photo - and if you've got really thick hair, having all those layers might make it easier to manage.

That is so great that you are donating your hair! So very cool of you! I like the second style that you posted. I have a round face and what I have found is that I need to have my hair longer than my face is wide! LOL!! And for thick hair, some layering always helps.

I love the first one!

I understand about growing attached I've been trying to grow my hair out for months, hopefully I'll get it where I want it soon

This is so me! My hair, when long, took over 8 hours to dry on it's own ... I so feel you on this! Now, with my shorter hair, it takes less time to dry. I either shower at night and let it dry on it's own overnight, and straighten in the morning. Or shower in the morning, blow dry and then straighten. And thick, thick, thick! My friend attacks me with the thinning shears often, and I have to be trimmed every three weeks now (thankfully I don't pay for my haircuts, otherwise it would be growing out again! lol)

I think the second cut would look hawt on you!!

you just described my hair (its dyed in these pictures because my hair is naturally dark blonde) I am growing it out to donate to locks of love also. I will show you how I get my hair cut everytime. Here is the back

My hair is basically cut into long layers which start around my chin. Its angled in the front and I have no real bangs. I also occasionally have it thinned out with thinning shears. It is not super curly like corkscrew curls but its defenitely not straight and straightening irons do not work on my hair so I use the blowdryer everytime I wash it and blowdry it straight. Also I use this stuff called Frizz Ease. Its a hair serum which tames the frizz that I tend to get with humidity and makes it really shiny and smooth

Traci...I totally understand...I have the same type of hair. I have to blow it dry every day (or it would never dry) and I use a flat iron most days (always if I'm going to work). I have a photo of my in my layout in my gallery...this was a few days before I had it trimmed again, and I don't have it flat ironed here. This is a great cut though for super thick wavy'ish hair!! Oh...and I too have a round face...although your's is not near as round as mine!!

I know it's hard to cut it...but remember...it's only hair, and it will grow back!! I'm sure it'll be super sexy what ever you do to it!!

Oh Traci... I love that you're donating your hair! It's SO gorgeous and I've secretly envied you for a while now. lol I have almost no hair... mine is so thin and fine.

I've always loved that Jessica Simpson style and I think, with a straight iron, that might be pretty easy for you to do. The Mandy Moore style is cute, but it looks like you might need more product to make it chunky... KWIM?

I love the second hair style also! I think it is so nice of you to donate your hair to
locks of love"....
Oh and Traci, it IS only hair and can grow back....LOL That is what my cousin said before she got her hair chopped off really short....

I'm with Mandy! I wish you could donate your hair to me! I think it's awesome that you are donating it but it's so gorgeous I couldn't part with it! LOL! Out of the two I would pick the first one but if you say it's naturally wavy I'd go with layers and let it go natural your hair looks fab when you curl it up so I'm sure a nice wavy layered cut would look awesome!

I did the same thing about 2 months ago- I had my hair chopped off and donated it to Locks of Love.... only thing is, my hair dresser cut my hair way too short and I hate it! :(

Good luck! I hope you find the best look! :) (I like Mandy's hair the most of the photos you showed)

I like both styles that you picked out :)

One piece of advice (I've donated my hair 3 times now and I'm growing it out again) - figure out how much you want to cut off and have your stylist pull it back and put a rubberband a bit BELOW where the length you want is. Then have her braid the hair and tie it off with another rubberband. Have her cut it off in one fell swoop above the top rubberband. That way the hair is super easy to stick in a plastic bag to send off for donation.

Don't be scurred. Hair grows back!

I'm going against the majority on this one. lol I love both cuts, but REALLY love the first one! That is awesome! I think it's so cool that you are donating. I'm growing my hair out, but I don't know if I could let it get long enough to donate b/c of the headaches I get if it's too long b/c it's so thick! I'd love to do it though, especially after my mom's battle w/cancer!

As someone who donates there hair every other year or so, I think its great you are doing that! Though, I have no idea how you should cut your hair. lol I have stick straight, ultra fine hair, I never know what to do with that. lol
