help finding a song

I know this is a long shot but the music station today was doing a telethon thing for St. Jude's. They played a song that started out talking about a girl standing in the rain and the lightning flashing was god taking her picture. Then something about a girl having her mom's photo in a locket and how a girl so young should not have to live without her mom. Please tell me someone knows the name of the song and who sings it?
 
Was it by a female or a male?

And what station was it on? you might be able to just look up the music station
 
I wish I could remember the lyrics but it was one of those songs they use to have people talk about their experiences at the hospital in between lyrics but it was a really pretty song I would like to get it if I can figure out who it was. There was another song Id never heard by Taylor Swift called Never Grow Up which I immediately recognized her voice. I am not sure who the singer of this song was though because I did not recognize the voice
 
hmmmm I'll help you figure it out. Alright what was the radio channel you were listening to? Maybe we can track it down that way.
 
97.5 from lakeland fla. They were doing a telethon for St. Jude's hospital and had the songs playing with little quotes from parents who had children who were in the hospital at some point in time.
 
If you had an iPod, iPhone or iPad (or maybe even an Android product) there's an app called Shazam that can find songs for you just by listening to it. I used it yesterday to find out a song that was playing during dialog on a show. This doesn't help after the fact though. LOL

Was is a country station?
 
I've been trying to google since you posted and coming up with nothing...I did however hear Laura Alaina's song The Locket which I now love :) Good luck!!
 
does the station has a facebook page? maybe you could comment on there and they would know? thats just another suggestion. wish i knew the song for ya!
 
EDIT: it can't be that. The lyrics say nothing about a locket.

Was it Martina McBride's new song I'm gonna love you through it?
 
Thanks Jennifer. I did already like it awhile ago. I posted on their wall so maybe someone will know. I wish I had at least recognized the singer then maybe I could find it that way.
 
Do you remember the exact words to any line of the song? When I hear a song I like that I don't know what it is, I just put in a line of lyrics I remember with the word 'lyrics' into google, and I can usually find it.
 
it already is me and my husband too. I thought I would remember the lyrics and I did for part of the day til I finally went to look it up and then I could just remember what it was about. Since I knew the singer for the other song it was easy to find.
 
I asked hubby (he DJ's for a radio station)... the only one that comes to mind that he knows they play as one of the beds for St. Jude is "Streets of Heaven" - Sherrie Austin ... But I looked at the lryics... and they don't have that story line... he says a lot of people call on that song... he will keep thinking...

sorry - I thought for sure hubby would know - he has that freaky talent of hearing a song once and knowing most of the words, especially country songs... haha
 
Oh, I hate it when this happens! It drives me nuts until I find it. I was so thankful when I got my droid phone and was able to add the Shazam app. It has saved my sanity MANY times. I hope you find the song. Now I am curious and want to hear it. :)
 
That song is good and Ive heard it before but man it makes me sad.
