suddenly.. like in the past 10 minutes.. his face looks like this-- It's actually a lil darker than this the flash blew it out a lil..
I have NO idea.. I asked him if he put anything on his face, put anything in his mouth etc etc.. but he's being all bah tonight and not answering questions properly & I have no idea.. He was in his room cleaning it.. and then came out like this.. but there's nothing in his room that he shouldn't be able to get into.....

any ideas?? he's breathing ok.. didn't say it's itchy or anything.. he said it burned when he licked it (@_@)..
 
Dude. I don't know. It looks like a chemical burn of some sort. Dean's mouth looked EXACTLY like that once after he ate a TON of pineapple - like it just irritated the hell out of his mouth. He was fine of course after a few days, but now I make sure to have him drink milk or something and don't let him eat so much pineapple at once.

What about the inside of his mouth?
 
I was gonna say chemical too...did he have any kinda of cleaning products that he may have accidently been messing with?
 
Is it growing? Like are the borders getting bigger since you first noticed it?

How old is he again? Does he do any contact sports? like wrestling?
 
hello La...you're not answering fast enough for my satisfaction. I mean come on. Where are your priorities?? Your son has a weird thing on his face and you're totally ignoring us... WTF?
 
lol.. we were just in the bathroom.. i wanted to wash off his face jic..

it hasnt changed or grown.. there are no cleaning products he was using in his room BUT he did gank the air freshener earlier and spray it at the cat box so that is a possibility..
he is 6.. inside of his mouth is fine.. pink and happy.. no contact sports.. he didn't fall.. nothing that would have made a bruise etc..
 
did he have his upper lip/skin in his mouth? like his bottom lip over it? Looks chapped to me :0/ shrug...my kids get weird things all over all the time but his is kinda big...is it just red or bumpy?
 
Maybe it was the air freshener. Possibly he got it on his hand when he was spraying it and then touched his face? That stuff can be pretty caustic I'm sure. I bet that's it.
 
it's purple and dotty.. like-- you know the bad aaaah you're not getting oxygen thing.. I just don't know.. I mean if it was the air freshener great.. but I don't know....well not great :p kid shouldn't ahve been touching that shizz. but he also turns purple when he's cold-- so i mean it could just be red and chapped :p
 
I asked about the wrestling because wrestlers get all kinds of nasty skin infections - impetigo, ringworm, weird fungi, all kinds of crazy stuff they constantly pass back and forth to each other. I know this because I'm married to a wrestler. You wouldn't believe the stuff that man has grown on his skin. ick.
 
lol it's ok jen.. the only interaction he has with icky kids is @ school.. and i hope they don't wrestle in class ^_^

he keeps calling it a mustache.. I swear it looks like he rubbed something into a mustache on his face.. it's totally smooth though.. like i can't feel it at all when i run my fingers over
 
That's really strange La, hopefully it is just a case of chappy lips :confused:

Could he have pulled it into his mouth and been sucking on it--kinda like a huge hickey?

Could also be chapped--I've seen kids look like that who have badly chapped lip/skin but that would take some time.

Air freshener is also a possibility.

IDK...watch it for a while and see what happens. I'd just double check that there weren't any other cleaners in his room. ;)
 
Wow, I posted as you were posting the 2nd pic, that is really strange. Would he tell you if he did rub something on it?
 
Ok, now I saw the 2nd pic...do you have any wax or Nair or anything he could have gotten into? Could he have tried to shave?
 
nope.. lol i'm even out of razors.. he won't tell me diddly right now.. which is infuriating :p he's old enough to know what is ok and not.. and to tell me when I ask "did you do shit to your face" ... :p garhghtew@$%@#

thanks girls.. I'll just keeping an eye on him for now.. I'm psycho paranoid about breathing-- so I automatically monitor that anyway :p He seems FINE though.. he keeps running around.. sigh. GRRR. I'm going to go deeply inspect his room now-- he's been banned from goign back in there since I saw the purple.

That is just what I was going to say La. I have one of my boys that has done this many times....and come to find out that's just what it was. It looks JUST like when Pat did it!
 
Honestly La...if he appears fine otherwise, I'm sure this is what happened. It looks like it could've been a cup or something rounded.
 
he said he didn't do that.. but right now I don't believe anything he's saying.. cause we're into "Aliens did it to me" territory :p
 
Ok, I'm saying air freshener and that it's a little chemical burn. I bet he got it on his finger when he sprayed it and it smelled good so he kept putting his finger under his nose to smell, which made them touch his upper lip?? And of course he's not gonna tell you, he's a smart kid!!

And Cindy - wrestlers are totally gross. But they have WAY hot bodies!! LOL. But you get used to it. Those wrestling rooms are like 90 degrees - perfect breeding grounds for all kinds of nastiness. And I was the wrestling trainer when he was wrestling in college, so I knew about the funk before we started dating. But it's just part of the sport. Still, it's kind of gross. He was never allowed anywhere near me or in my house without showering really really well after practice!!! And even now that he coaches I don't let him wash his wrestling gear at our house - he has to wash it at the school!! LOL.
 
I was going to guess hicky too, from the first pic. looks a little like he'd been sucking on it... I've no other ideas - hope you find the answer soon, and it clears right up!!
 
guess what's the exact same shape/size as a kids mouth? oh yes.. that's the top of the air freshener bottle :p.. I picked it up & was looking at it & ce was like Okkkkkkkkkkk I'll tell you! he told me he sprayed it and then smelled it (and promptly showed me how *rolling eyes*) the bottle fits perfectly around his mouth.. so I think you're right jen.. he probably sprayed it (incorreclty) got the shizz all over the bottle.. and promptly put it right on his face.. time shall tell. air freshener is now going far far away from ce :p

thats what I thought too! Like he sucked his lips into something round! I know when I do things with the skin that brings the blood to the surface (like suctioning) and you leave it on too long you get something that resembles that.

well atleast he said what he did :)
