heat setting ink

I'm about to purchase some scrap supplies, and am wondering about the cats eye chalk inks - I have only been using StazOn right now, and thought I'd like to try something like a chalk ink, but I was wondering - does that ink need to be heat set to be permanent? If so, how do you do it without a heat-setting tool? (Is there a way?)

The chalk ink's I've never had a problem with drying just from the plain old air. The ones that I usually need to emboss are the regular thick pigment inks that will not dry without the embossing powder and heat setting tool (that's just in my experience). They're a little different from the Cat Eyes and the Versa Dew Drops.

But I don't *think* the chalk inks need to be heat set.

I have not ever had a problem with cats eye ink on stuff like paper, or chipboard. If you are going to use it on Acrylic or other such plastics you will want to heat set it, as for what to use, a hair dryer might work, it is similar to a heat tool
