Have you seen this snow globe?

Maybe a seriously talented designer could make one up and put in the store for way cheaper than $20????
 
I saw that same december daily cover thing Kate did - I love it!! That is amazing. I'd love to do something like that!
 
I thought about it too!!! I saw it and thought it'd be a great idea.

Perhaps there is a designer that could do something like it.................. :) :thumbup:
 
I am sure the one I posted is worth the $20, especially to a photographer that can resell to their clients. It is just a little steep for my non-commercial use LOL.
 
I just bought the $1 template but I hadn't seen your post yet Marla! I hope I can figure it out!
 
Stacie just added a couple more templates with clear glass ornaments instead of snow globes, they're $1 each too.
 
I think they would be okay depending on your picture. If you had a pretty blank background I think it would be easier. I had a giant tree and I had to try to figure out where to cut it off.
 
I got the ornament template and one of the snow globe sets. I just tried the ornament one and think it turned out pretty good...

I haven't tried with a color photo though, just a sepia one that, by chance, kinda matched the background.
 
I wish this had more of a Christmas background though. I kinda don't see the point in the background it has. Too bad you can't change out the background really easy.
 
Yours looks good... I think my picture what part of what caused me so much headache. I think it would be a lot easier if it was a PSD file and the background and snow globe/ ornament were a different layer? That might be how the $20 one is.
 
IMO the 20 dollar one is not any better then the JPG. I bought it thinking it was a layered PSD and it is not. It is a flattened PSD. At least in PSPX5 it is. Maybe in photoshop it isn't. I dont know. I did use it but I dont like it very much.

I bought the one dollar ornament one. I think the best way to use it is with a portrait of one person. Especially if you have one that already sort of has a blurred background. Then just use a layer style. I'm having trouble getting the snow overlay to look like snow, but I think I like the ornament without snow anyway.

Now, maybe some talented SSD designer will come up with a lovely layered PSD or TIFF template!

That's disappointing... I would think that it wouldn't be much harder to make the PSD. Hmmm.... Here's mine- don't laugh... it's totally cheesy. lol.

I got the 1$ one and used the snow behind it and then blended a lot on mine. I do like the ornament one too though.
 
what I ended up doing is lowering the opacity of the photo, slightly erasing the edges of my photo that I extracted so it looks more antural inside the snowglobe and tehn duplicating the photo in a couple different blend modes to get it to look like it is behind the glass but look a little nore natural. Took me awhile playing with it to get it how I wanted it to look. Would have been much easier if it was layered like a template usually is. I guess it might be a little different in PS because Im pretty sure there are more layer styles then I have the ability to use (have about 15 or so in PSP). I cant remember which styles I used now. My daughter loved it which is why I bought it and that is what is important I suppose.
