for those of you that remember me talking about struggling with Peyton in school and him being diagnosed in Oct with ADHD (we are still trying to find the right combination of medication) I got this email from the school counselor today ...only AFTER I have been telling the school over and over and over that I was NOT going to take him out because he is a "young" kindergartner....now I KNOW my gut feeling was right.....
"We did meet today and discuss Peyton's behavioral situation in Mrs.
Kerr's class. At this time we would like to continue to compile
information on how to help Peyton be successful at school. We would
like your permission to complete a referral for Special Education. This
is the next step in the process. With your approval, I will complete
the referral (with Mrs. Kerr) and submit it. We would then meet with
the school psychologist, Terry Borth, to determine if it is appropriate
to do an assessment for Special Education. We will need you to meet
with us at that time. Please call me if you have any questions."
so here's too hoping they get the little guy the help he needs to succeed
and thanks for all the advice I have gotten from several of you either here or on FB :hugs::wub:
