Has anyone tried Schwan's?

Did you like it? A rep just came by my house and their chocolate peanut butter ice cream is calling my name. It's pricey, but we now live hours away from a Baskin Robbins and I can't get my choc. PB ice cream fix anymore. :D I couldn't afford most of the stuff they're selling but thought I might try an ice cream and their french baguettes (my friend's mom bought them and I would eat like half the loaf when she served it because it was yummmmy). I might try one order of some steaks since we're also hours away from any good restaurants and may be good for a stay-at-home date. lol

We love Schwann's :) We get stuff from them all the time, it's awesome. Jordan is obsessed with their french vanilla ice cream, and I'm a big fan of the fudge ripple.
We also love their boneless teriyaki wings, and their crispy chicken tender thingys. I get their perogies and hashbrowns too. Mmm...I think that's it. We try things out with them all the time.

look at the prices closely now that he's left a book with you (i'm assuming).

There are many things that are higher than they should be, but others that are the same price as the grocery store, with higher quality.

They have the best corn on the cob I've ever eaten (that wasn't fresh shucked and slow cooked, don't get me wrong). And the corn isn't much more than grocery prices.

They used to have like 6 steaks for $20, which is a great deal

Their ice cream is wonderful, I love their watermelon sorbet with chocolate chips for the "seeds".

Also their chicken patties (for like breaded chicken sandwiches, a lunchtime fave here) are yummy and well priced.

i Luuuurve schwanns.

I think their ice cream is VERY high priced...although we just bought some 2 weeks ago...2 kinds of vanilla LIGHT to see if dh will eat it instead of the fatty stuff from grocery store...I really want him to TRIM up before we go to the beach next summer. I can do without ice cream but he doesn't want to. I need to pull it out tonight and have him try it..come to think of it.

My 20yo LOVES their bagel dogs...they are expensive but he says they are the very best tasting. My 15yo likes their pigs in a blanket (blueberry pancake batter).

I spent $99 last time (with coupons) and I can't remember what all I bought...oh yeah loaded baked potato soup (maybe I will have that tomorrow for lunch)...bought some funky sounding steaks...will pull those out and try them this weekend (chimi churri or something like that).

They have discontinued all our favorites except the bagel dogs. That was a disappointment. Personally I like the Aldi's brand of "chicken cordeon bleu" better than the one carried by Schwann's or Sam's or grocery store. ...and Aldi's is 99 cents each.

We are trying the chimi steaks, loaded baked potato soup, blueberry pucks (frozen globs of blueberry muffins)...and 2 ice creams.

We live close to the headquarters, so I grew up with Schwan's. I love them! Yes, they are a bit pricey, but their food is so good. Their ice cream is the best. I am not a french fry person, but their frozen fries are SO good! I also love their baby roasters (potatoes) - pizza - and their blackened chicken alfredo is really, really good!

Huge Schwan's fan here, too! I used to love their crab rangoons and wish soooo badly that they'd bring them back. Last week when he was here, I bought some of the little frozen fruit packs that you can use to make smoothies - yeah, they're not cheap, but it's so nice to just pull one out and throw it in the blender with some yogurt. SOOO good. I also love some of their sorbet flavors. The passion punch one is seriously fabulous. I'm also loving their grilled chicken bites - so nice to nuke 'em and toss them on top of a big salad for a very quick and healthy meal.

I could go on and on about the products I love, but I'll stop for now...lol.

We love it too! Their ice cream is the best - in the summertime we always have their fudge bars, ice cream bars and ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. We also love the chicken patties, chicken strips and mediterranean vegetable blend.

Schwan's is the bomb, we love them. We regularly order their pizzas, chicken pot pies and veggies as well as their ice cream. They've got stuffed shells that are delicious. I don't think we've ever ordered anything we didn't like. I recommend them highly

We like them too! My husband LOVES the chocolate PB ice cream. He will seriously eat the whole thing within days. I like their miniature ice cream bars. Perfect size for me and my son. I also order some of their pizzas - I like the personal sized ones that are the Tomato Basil and the Vegetable one. They are made with whole wheat crust and work great for lunch!

I would agree that some of their things are pricey, but the quality can't be beat! Give it a try! :) I've never had anything from there that we haven't loved!

I love anything cotton candy flavored so I used to buy their cotton candy swirl ice cream cups. Not sure if they still sell that or not but it was DELICIOUS!!!

There food is fabulous! The ice creams are the absolute best! The tangerine fruit punch sherbet is the best.

We get some stuff from them from time to time and are always pleased. We got a great deal on some really nice steaks last time and loved them! My kiddos love the chicken fries and the ice cream is hard to beat. I love that they deliver it, too. One less trip to the grocery store. :p

For somme reason, I think Miss Kim's husband works for Schwan's. She could probably recommend some of the good stuff. {assuming I didn't make up that piece of info out of nowhere}

Oh yes, everyone buy Schwans!

My dh has been a route manager for them for 11 years, so I've tried almost everything out there. As Lena said, it's a balance between price and quality. Some things are just as cheap as the grocery store (per item) and some are more expensive, but worth the price for the increased quality.

The ice cream is really, really good. I like their sausage patties and philly cheesesteak meat, too. We always get our unbreaded chicken breasts from them. Veggies are great, too.

P.S. Ha! You girls remembered! Thanks Kellie and Lena!

After reading this thread I just placed my first order! Right now they are running a promo where you get a free item with your order. And what is cool about their website is that you can read reviews of the food. I'm looking forward to trying some!

Oh I didn't see that! Thanks! That made me put in a small order. :)
