Has anyone ever been bitten by an earwig?

I totally just got my leg chomped on by an earwig! It freaking hurt! And I have two little red holes on my leg and a welt the size of a nickel :mad: not to mention they are totally creepy looking!

Ouch.
 
No, but now I have that creepy crawly feeling and keep looking to see if there's a bug on me. Sorry that happened!
 
Ewwwww, this totally brings up bad memories. One time when my oldest was a baby, he had a cold so I went to get the nasal bulb thingie out of the closet. I squished the bulb to get their air out to get ready to suction my baby's nose, and out pops a NASTY freaking earwig!!! I almost threw up. I still have nightmares about what could have happened if I blew that thing up my son's nose!
 
EWWWW gross! Those are at least as bad as roaches in my book...had no idea that they bit.

*shudder*

Hope that it heals up and feels better ASAP.
 
Oh, they are soooo creepy looking!! Someone told me once that they don't bite, but I never believed them because any bug that had pincers like that had to bite!! Now you've proved me right! I'm so sorry you got bit :(
 
I have no clue what that is but I'll go with everyone else and say ewwwwwwwwww! Hope the bite heals quickly though!
 
OMGosh! I didn't know they could bite! We kill at least 4 or 5 a day in our house! UGH! And, they FLY!!
 
I was bitten by one this summer... there was one in my bathrobe, which I haven't been able to wear since, I'm still creeped out! I didn't even know what it was until my DH told me - if you don't know what they look like - I don't advise looking up pictures, I think you are better off not knowing!
 
ew, ew, ew, ew!!! We used to have them EVERYWHERE at the place we lived in before this one. Eeeeewwwww. Never got bit by one that I am aware of, on any of us, but yuck!!
 
I know!!! I think they eeeewwww factor is worse than the bite....which technically wasnt a bite, its a pinch. But still!!! It feels better now, but I do have a big ole welt and the red marks.

And yes...dont google one if you dont know what they are because they are icky!!!
 
I didn't know earwigs even bit until a couple of weeks ago when 6 year old DD tried to pick one up to save it and put it outside. Once it bit her, I think it was history! ;)
 
I lived in a place with lots of them when I was a little girl and they would randomly fall off the ceiling at me. To this day they are one of the bugs that I am the most freaked out by, and I never even remember getting bit by one. I hope your bite heals up quick!

The dog was nipped by one of those the other day. We've got them all over... and house centipedes too. Glad to hear it doesn't hurt too bad
 
We have them too but mostly in the basement....they are gross and (knock on wood) no one has been bitten yet....the kids like to smush them !!!! Hope it feels better soon....
 
LOL, why am I reading this thread even though it's grossing me out LOL? Almost as bad as the lady across the street that had the cockroach crawl in her ear and get stuck (long story, GROSS GROSS GROSS).
 
The weirdest thing happened...I was reading this thread, and just after a HUGE ant bit me! On the chest! I have 2 big welts now. We have the worst ants here. They've literally eaten holes in our clothes. It's revolting. The worst part was, a little while later, I put my baby down on her blanket, and then she started screaming, so I picked her up and there was an ant under her! It bit her as well. Poor thing! I think it might have been the same one that bit me since I brushed it off out of instinct and then I couldn't find it to kill it, and I can't find any others anywhere. I HATE bugs!

I do not know what one is but I also dont want to know LOL. I have been stung/bit by just about every stinging/biting bug there is here in Florida. I once sat on a scorpion. They seem to like the bathroom here in my house. I also once went to unroll some toilet paper and got stung on my finger. Thankfully they are tiny and not really dangerous. Feels more like a bad ciggerette burn
 
my daughter once had a fire ant crawl into her ear and bite her repeatedly. We took her to the hospital and the doctor told us that it was not ant bites in her ear that it was an ear infection. We saw the ant crawl out though and she was fine (not crying about her ear hurting) until a few seconds before the ant crawled out.

I am bumping because quite honestly....

it's cracking me up

Lizzy....I narrowly escaped with my life. Once I pried myself from his pincers of death, I promptly squashed the offensive beast.
