Has anyone made their own DIY photo canvases from pinterest yet?

I'd like to do a few but not sure if they are worth my trouble or not...even though it
would be way cheaper than ordering one.

I did 4, I'll have to go take a picture and share :) all I did was paint the outer edges of the canvas black, printed my pictures b&w, then I mod podged the canvas some, the back of the image and laid it down....then I mod podged lightly over the top and I LOVE them.....I can't wait to do a bigger one!!

eta...here are mine on my wall....

I am soooo doing it. But I wanted to see how they turned out from someone I know before I go and do it. lol

Having the canvases printed through a printer is soooo expensive and I want to do a big one....like 16x20. lol

I've also pinned a few to do them even bigger with engineer prints from staples...they are like 3'x4'

My friend did those but instead of 4 different photos, she cropped 1 photo into 4 sections... so the photo is broken up into four pieces but it looks so cool on her wall.

mine are 11x14 :) I do have a big 16x20 to do for Sam's bathroom that is a cute washroom print, but I haven't had a chance to mod podge it yet....and I tell you if you can get the canvases at Michael's with a 50% coupon it makes it even better :)

I bought a set of 2 11x14 canvases from Michaels a while back on sale to do my crayon art....which are still sitting in the closet in their packaging lol.

I always look for them on sale there or Hobby Lobby.

I think I'm going to get a few prints made up so I can do them.

Which according to my Michael's ad, they have the 2 pack of 16x20 canvases from $5 right now. And all the other ones are 40% off and there is a coupon for 40% a regular item.

Those look awesome Angie! I have those on my list of projects to do this summer. I still want to do those photo booth ones up our stairs, but we'll see if I get that ambitous. ;)

Angie, where did you have your prints done at?
I'm debating between ordering them through my pro print lab or just taking them to a local place.

I actually got mine printed at Costco and I was sooo super happy with the prints :) I also really like Persnicity Prints :)

I love Persnickety prints. I did the metallic finish on one of my daughter's and it turned out really pretty. I was nervous because Id never seen one done that way. It is kinda hard to explain but it made the whole picture look more 3-d. Like everything had more dimension I guess and you werent looking at just a flat photo. Anyhow that was my experience with it. I thought it was worth the extra couple dollars for the one special print.
