Happy Memorial Day! And a HUGE thank you to all of those who have served or are serving our country! This Memorial Day is extra special for me as my oldest daughter just left for Basic Training in the US Air Force last Tuesday, May 24th. I am so proud that my child is serving our country and being honored today for it!

thanks to your DD NeeNee as she joins our wonderful military I leave it behind :) bittersweet :) Thanks to all that have served, will serve and to their friends and family who support them trhough it all...please don't forget the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice as well...we owe it to them all......

Ha ha, I know....she never did meet the weight requirement but, they let her go in anyway since she was only 4 lbs. off. She is 5' and weighs 96 lbs. But, she is full of fire....one tough little girl. ;)

This memorial day is a sad one for my DH and myself. When he was still active duty his friend died three years ago today - May 30th 2008. :( All gave some. Some gave all.

That sucks Trish! We almost didn't go because it was at 7 am and it was in the 40s, holy crap abnormal for our neck of the woods at the end of May - we were dying!! But I'm glad we did <3

Thank you, Traci, I am trying to decide how to use that coupon. ;)

Today my son and I just got back from a small Memorial Day service. I also posted a Memorial Day blog post at Me So Scrappy today. Most of my unit today is helping to save my hometown from a flood.

we are having a boring day at home. DH is working and it is too windy to do anything outside today.
 
Happy Memorial Day and God bless the men and women who serve for this great country and for those that gave their lives... may we never take it for granted.

I have such a small family that we didn't have anyone in the military until just this year... My cousin has just joined the navy after graduating from college with an engineering degree (wants to work on the nuclear subs) and my hubby's cousin is being deployed to the Middle East the first of July, she is a nurse.
