Happy 7-11 Day!

LOL One of our daughters worked for 5 yrs at our local 7/11 and she hates free slushie day. She said all the freaks and geeks came out, she would be so worn out after work, poor thing.

The 7-11s in OKC are owned by a different group than the other 7-11s, and they don't sell Slurpees...they are called Icy Drinks. No freebies for us :( (at least not last year)

We tried to do this last year and it was a complete nightmare. The first 7-11 we stopped by had no parking, and the line was out the door and into the parking lot. The second one we tried told us "no more free slurpee's!" when we entered the store. I think they ran out? Or the owner of the store was tired of the crowds? Not sure. But the chaos to get my kids a free one was not worth the $$ saved. LOL! So, we went to Target and I bought them 2 Icee's there because they were craving one by that time. :p

We got ours with some friends.

Sadly our nearest 7-11 is 2 hours away. I think we may just go to the gas station and get our frozen Icee anyway. :)

No more 7-11's here either - when I was in high school there was one on the corner by the school and they were all over but they've all been bought out by local people, which actually is a good thing since it is owned by local people instead of a national chain.

I wonder if ours does it ... I was just there in the last hour ... only a couple of vehicles there ... didn't see anyone rushing for slurpees ... so guessing maybe not? How do we find out if they participate ... call them or is it posted somewhere?

We just got ours!!

Sharon, ours had a little sign at the register that said there were free slurpees and then by the slurpee machine, they emptied all of the cups and had stacks of the free 7.11 oz ones. We picked a good time because no one was there when we got there.. but 3-4 families came after us.
