Handwriting without tears

Anyone use this program? http://www.hwtears.com/hwt I think someone may have mentioned it a little while ago. I've been poking around on their website and like what I see. (I'm looking at the 'Get Set for School' Program.)

I was trying to figure out how to 'buy' it and looks like I go to the calculator thing and make a classroom with 1 kid in it? Sure would be great to have a coupon code!

my sons teacher used it back when he was in fourth grade I think. She reccomended it to me to help him learn cursive. I never bought anything from it. I just gave him worksheets she sent home to practice with. I think I might have asked about it on here back then and got mixed reviews on it.

That was one of the writing finalists when I HS my son way back when. I had that rare child who LOVED workbooks while I really wanted to do unit studies so workbooks it was. I ended up going with A Reason for Handwriting. I let him try the sample sheets and he liked them a lot, and the pictures are the end were fun too.

I used Alpha Omega for everything else and was kinda disappointed at how easy it was for him so we went with Bob Jones the next year.

Lilly's preschool uses the beginner units to teach printing, and I really enjoyed the program and the different little tips and tricks. I don't know the whole program, but I know some people swear by it.

I think that's what intrigued me, is that there are alot of little bits/tricks to it that would make letters fun. Just sitting down & working on a worksheet, isn't going to cut it for my kid.

We used it with both of the boys and loved it for print. We use something different for cursive, but it's especially a great program for children with writing difficulties!

You can also buy it on Amazon or at local teacher's supply stores. I would sell my copy, but it's written in so much no one else would want to use it lol.

I didn't use their site to get mine or I'd help. If they have a homeschool option, go that route to help!

We use it and totally love it!!!! I got it through my homeschool curriculum. (Sonlight) They also have it at our local Christian bookstore here that has lots of education items for homeschoolers. We have used it for Pre-K and K. I even bought the chalkboard and the wood pieces to work with. Landon loves it and it is so easy to teach!

My SIL is a special education teacher and uses the program with her elementary students that have difficulties with writing. She said she has had very positive results with it.

My kids' school uses it too and they love it. The first grade teachers rave about how much difference it has made in the quality of writing they see since they started using it in kindergarten. My 3rd grader just used it for cursive this past year too and it seemed to work well for that also.

We use it for pre-K in our district, so I've had multiple trainings. Love the songs, and the manipulatives and how you can adapt everything for different levels of kids. Awesome program.

Thank you gals! I appreciate all your comments! I'll check around, there might be someplace locally I can pick it up!

Thanks!
