Hair or Makeup?

If you only have time to do one, which do you choose?

I hate, hate, hate drying my hair in the summer. It takes FOREVER to dry with a dryer and it is just so hot! Add using the flat iron and I can easily spend 30 mins on getting my hair all nice and straight. So sometimes if I do my hair, I may not have time to do my makeup, too. It's weird, though...if my hair is all fixed, I usually feel like I can get by without makeup. If I need to pull my hair back, I feel like my makeup HAS to be done. Is that weird?

So what do you do? Always both? One or the other? And if you can only do one, which do you choose?

*this thread may or may not directly stem from a slight fuss with my hubby over my inability to be ready on time*

Make-up. Always make-up.

Hair goes into a ponytail during the summer...if it's really scary, I add a hat.

hair..i straighten it almost everyday and it's usually out of control even in a ponytail

I always have time to throw on powder and lip gloss so that's usually all I wear..if i'm feeling adventurous I'll throw on some mascara too!

Unless I am going out somewhere special or date night I dont bother with makeup. (well if I know Ill be taking pictures it is makeup and hair). Most days I really only put my hair in a ponytail. Too hot to wear it down.

I don't wear makeup (except to church or to a function), so I'll go with hair. I don't do much with my hair either.

Makeup. I actually went to work with wet hair today because it was just too hot to blow dry it. When it finally dried about (it's really thick), I pulled it up into a ponytail. I hate, hate, hate blow drying my hair.

hair, if i don't do anything to my hair it frizzes so bad. but if i am at home it goes right into a pony tail. I only wear makeup if i am going some where important

So... if my hair is long enough for a ponytail, I would definitely say makeup.

But since my hair is short, I HAVE to fix it (and it's naturally a little wavy, which doesn't work with my short hair) and I do every single day. So I would pick hair over makeup. However, it only takes me maybe 10 minutes to do my hair and like 30 seconds to do my makeup (because I just wear eyeliner and mascara!)

If throwing my hair into a ponytail is doing hair, then that. Otherwise, neither, I rarely wear make-up these days, no patience for it!

after 20 years in the Navy and ALWAYS having to have my hair up, I would say make up, but I don't do either when I go to work :) If I am going out, I do both, but that isn't usually often!

Definitely make-up. I'm often running around town with my hair in a ponytail (because I've worked out that morning),but I never leave the house without make-up. It probably helps that make-up only takes five minutes and doing my hair takes a lot longer!

Always both. Although, since I shower first thing in the morning straight out of bed and wash my hair, my hair is always done. I rarely go out of the house without makeup, but if I did, my hair would already be done.

I am really not attractive au natural, and I'm vain, so yeah, both.

I have to admit, I'm quite blessed in the hair department. I don't have to do anything to it. I wash it and let it air dry (I do resemble a wet dog when I leave the house in the morning) ... and it takes me about 5 minutes to do my make up, so I'm fairly low maintenance in terms of time it takes me to get ready. While I don't need to style my hair, it's imperative that I wash it (or at least dampen it). I work in a pretty conservative, professional environment, so the expectation is that I always look nice.

Definitely makeup--I have long, thick, coarse hair that is best tied up quickly in a ponytail or bun. I don't have the best skin so I need time to put SPF, base/bb cream and line my brows at least.

As I work from home, I generally shower in the morning and fix my hair in a claw. No make-up, just oil free moisturiser and sometimes lip gloss or balm. If I'm meeting with clients then I blow dry my hair, straighten the front and sides then fix it up into a french twist and apply make-up. The only other time I do anything is when I'm going out for the evening with DH or going to some kind of event, when I do the full works. And it takes forever, I hate it.

Neither really - LOL. My hair is wavy/curly so I never use a blow dryer, I don't even own one. I let it dry naturally all year long. The only makeup I wear on a daily basis is mascara and most of the time not even that since I work from home.

hmmmm - i usually do both b/c it takes me a total of 5 minutes to do my hair and 5 minutes to do my makeup - max .... if i really can only do one, i think i'd choose makeup b/c my hair doesn't look TOOOOO bad if i let it dry naturally.

make-up...but that's only eyeliner, mascara and lipcolor for me
my hair takes muuuucchhhh longer to style, but i can get away with messy buns and stuff if i don't have the time or inclination.

i do usually blow-dry the top and front of my hair just to help it look a bit more lively. if i do absolutely no product or drying, i have to wash it sooner because it looks so yucky to me.

hee hee... this is me, too... now hair is short so it's a wash and go style. ;)

Makeup! My hair has started to become super wavy since having kids. I decided to embrace it one time instead of blowing it dry & flat-ironing it, I let it air dry with a spray of curl enhancing gel and it turned out pretty nice! So, I hardly spend any time on my hair anymore. Wash, spray, scrunch and go. I wear makeup everyday, though. I feel like I have to. :o I don't have the best skin (pregnancy also gifted me with some fab spots of melasma) so I wear foundation & powder no matter what... lipstick & eye makeup is a bonus if I have the time.

Being a curly girl my hair routine goes with my shower and I just scrunch it before I even get dressed. Makeup takes about 5 minutes, so I usually put it on if I'm headed out. If I'm on 2nd or 3rd day hair, I'll spend a little time with some pomade on my frizz and it's definitely back in a braid or a bun.

DH is usually the one who isn't ready, and I've gotten the kids and I ready. :)

I must be a horrible girl. I'd chose to sleep the extra 15/30 minutes and throw my hair up as I'm running out the door. Then scrub my eyes with palms as I pull out the drive way in the morning. I'm just not a morning person at all. If we are going out for the evening I will do hair and make up before hand, like 30 mins before. But that happens maybe once or twice a year. :/

I'd rather sleep too. ;)

Since it's summer, I do neither. My hair is a big hot mess right now. It is really curly and driving me crazy. My bangs curl up something fierce and just look funny. I feel like I'm always washing it since I've been taking the kids to the pool so often. I have to wash it after the pool because it gets sticky if I don't. Make-up, well, it is just too hot for make-up right now. My mascara starts running down my cheeks as I sweat. Alice Cooper isn't a good look so I skip the make-up and just stick with some sunscreen. IF I am going to be out somewhere that people will see me, I will try and straighten my bangs a little so that they don't look like a bird's nest on my forehead like they do all curled up.

During the school year when I am working, hair is more important to me but I would still rather sleep. I take a shower at night. I blow dry my bangs and the front of my hair a little so that my bangs will lie nicely and then I let the rest dry naturally. Sometimes my hair is a crazy mess in the morning so I just tame the front and let the rest go. If the front looks okay, the rest looks like I planned it to be a little wild. ;) I typically brush a little mascara over my lashes too. That's all the make-up I do but my eyelashes are almost non-existent without some mascara.

Makeup definitely! ...I have my hair longer now which requires washing, combing ... going out in the car with a sun roof ... driving with it open and windows down ... naturally dried hair ... course you have to comb it again. ;-) I love this car I recently purchased from my friend ... thankfully allergies are cooperating and I'm enjoying it big time!

I don't wear makeup, so I would have to go with hair. Before I had kids, I had pretty straight hair - since having four beasts, my hair has become weird. Some parts curl, some wave, some stay straight. So 99% of the time, I let my hair air dry as I sleep, and straighten it when I wake up in the morning. It takes me about 15-20 minutes tops to get it right in the morning. I wash it every other night, and just quickly run the flat iron over it on the other morning, just to get rid of any kinks that appear (from tucking behind my ear, weird crease I get on one side from sleeping on it, etc. lol)
If I am running behind, I will dunk my head in the sunk and pull it all back into a ponytail, but that is about 1% of the time. I don't like the way I look with my hair not done. lol

I wish I could find a way to embrace the wave/curl thing, but I haven't figured it out yet.
