My kid... LOL

His new thing is to yell I HATE YOU at the top of his lungs whenever he gets mad at me. So, last night he did that like usual. I just ignore him, but dh gets into super protector mode when anyone (kids included) upset his wife, so Sean got in trouble for saying it.

So, dh tells him he has to come tell me he's sorry.

He walks up to me, snot nosed and runny eyed and says...

"Mommy?"

"I'm sorry I hate you."

I cried the first time one of my kiddos told me that :( I remember telling my mom that too as a child..and I just broke my own heart remembering that and now knowing the pain it caused. We as parents of course know our children don't hate us..still it doesn't feel good to hear it lol

((Hugs)) Cute story..but still I know you hated that feeling of hearing it.

I almost spit coffee! LMAO!!!

But even though it's funny -- it's hard to hear, right? My son tells me he doesn't like me on a daily basis. With every NO he gets, he likes me less and less. Until he wants something. Then he loves me all over again!

I think my son likes using the line 'You're the worst mom ever!!' more then I hate you. It usually only takes a few hours and they have totally forgotten why they were mad to begin with and are back to normal.

Heck no, it doesn't bother me at all. He's #5, I'm immune. :P

lmbo!! See..as the mom of 5 kiddos myself I can sympathize with that haha...Mine was the oldest though..and the first time so my heart broke a little lol...The troubling incidents do get easier with each kid though haha

And here I was thinking I must be the most non-feeling person ever because by the time it came to my youngest saying it it barely registers with me anymore LOL. After hearing it for oh probably 7 or 8 years from three kids it just doesnt sting like it did the first time I heard it

Speaking of things your kids say.....this morning Matthew ( almost 6) says to me "are you going to the bus stop looking like that?" Mind you I have on very nice jammie pants and a hoodie so I don't look awful or anything!! I said "why YES I am Matty, what is the problem?" he said...."you look really bad Mommy!!!" I said "why?" he said, "you don't match at all."

FYI: I do match, in my mind....what do 6 year olds know anyway!!!!

I also get told I HATE YOU often but I have learned to get over it as I know they don't really mean it and they usually say sorry right away followed by 1,000 hugs & kisses!!!!!

i am laughing at the mental picture i have of this. it sooo sounds like something gabe would say. i am pretty much immuned now to these types of things. it was hard the first few times cass told me she hated me.

My 4 year old has started doing this too. I know he's trying to get a reaction, so I just ignore him. He also started shouting "I'm going to destroy this world!" when he doesn't get his way. I tell DH that we're raising a future super villain. ;)

first of all...ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! :D

secondly...if one of my kids ever says that to me whether they mean it or not, it won't be pretty. for them. :glare:

LOL!

I don't recall my son ever saying he hates me. But my lovely 4yo DD has said it a few times. She hates everything though.
