Haha - funny and creepy...

Omgoodness you guys! I have to tell you about this totally crazy woman I met today while I was out for a walk with Avalynne! I was merely passing her on the sidewalk, and she stopped me for a conversation. I could hardly keep from laughing but it was a little strange too! This is our convo - honest! I haven't changed a thing!

Me (passing by her, smiling politely, say hi as I'm passing)

Lady: Oh hi! I was just showing my husband my underpants so he could see what color they were!

Me: Uh, (awkward laughter), well don't worry I didn't see!

Lady: Oh... Well they are pink! I picked them to match my shirt. See??

Me (now about 10 steps ahead and trying to get farther): Oh, yeah. Thats nice...

Lady: What color underpants are YOU wearing today?

Me (feeling completely uncomfortable now!): Uh, I think just white today... no fancy colors for me (more awkward laughter).

Lady: Make sure you check out that car when it passes you! Thats MY car!!

Me: Okay, I'll do that! Have a nice day! (Speed walk away - almost break into a run)

Honestly - it just came out of the blue! I had merely said a polite hello to some lady on the sidewalk and she belts out that she's wearing pink underwear?!?!?!? I told my mom and DH and they laughed so hard - my DH thought I was making it up, lol! I don't even think I could imagine something that strange, lol!!
 
LOL this is so weird - and at the end I was afraid... did you check the car (fear LOL)... she probably had a undies collection in there - LOL
 
If you see her out and about again do you plan to rapidly cross the road or are you going to see if she does it again?

Strange lady...

I would have been walking really fast to get away from her! Jeesh. If she is willing to talk like that to a stranger...what else will she do? <shudder> Ummm change your walking route?
 
Weird.

Reminds me of a project we had to do in psychology class in college. We had to do something that would defy social norms and then document the reactions of passersby. Some people were pretty tame with it, like standing backwards in an elevator rather than facing forward, but I can see someone doing something like this, just to see how people would react!
 
Hmm. So, here's a theory -- she had just flashed her underwear at a passing car (perhaps her husband driving by). You didn't see it, but she thought that you did, so she felt she had to explain herself?

How right you are! In fact I was wearing pink and orange swirly panties BUT I wasn't about to tell her that for fear she might ask to see them, lol!!!

Thats what I figured too... until she asked me about MY underwear, lol! Then it got a bit much, lol! My mom has met her too, and said she said stuff equally deranged (but not underwear flashing, lol)...

I do think that she has issues though. I mean, who says THAT to a stranger??
