It's me! It's me! My husband is a DIE HARD Steelers fan and when they won their conference, he said, we're going. Yeah sure... well we have friends who just moved to Tampa about 3 weeks ago and they said come down and stay. Even if we just ended up going to some of the events it would be fun (another friend works Big Ben's agency so we've got the hook-up), but we're going baby!

Well we found out we could save $400 on airfare by flying into Orlando and driving the hour or so to Tampa. We will be on vacation for 6 days and I'm SO excited!

Oh did I mention the kids are splitting time between the grandparents while we're gone... yeah, they have fun and we have a child-free vacation! WOOT!

Ideas of what to do in the Orlando and Tampa areas are greatly appreciated!

Orlando: Disney, Downtown Disney, Epcot, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Old Town (actually in Kissimmee which is just outside Orlando), Gator Jungle (in Christmas just east of orlando), Gatorland, Sanford Zoo, Daytona Beach, Fun Spot (mostly just go-karts but they are tons of fun!!)

Tampa:Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Cypress Gardens (Although it is sceduled to close not sure if it actually is closed)

Then there are a million parks and such that I love to go too. One place Im sure you would love to visit is Leu Gardens. It is a 50 acre garden and has the largest rose garden (or one of the largest) in the US

Lake Eola is a big lake in the middle of downtown Orlando. It is really pretty and has every swan in the world there that you can feed and big swan boats you can ride in across the lake as well as gondeliers (sp??)

I cant think of anything else right now.

Oh Old Town in Kissimmee has car shows (classic cars on Saturdays and custom cars on Fridays)

For shopping there is Pointe Orlando, FLorida Mall (huge mall near downtown Orlando), Downtown Disney, CityWalk at Universal and Premeir Outlets

That's awesome. DH and I went to the last superbowl when it was in Tampa. He won the tickets. It was awesome. We got some tickets to watch orlando magic play miami heat(DH is a huge miami team fan). CHeck out and see if the pirates parade thingy is coordinated to happen the same week. It was when we went and I heard it was a lot of fun(though we didn't go because we had no clue about it). Take a trip to St. Petersburg if you can. They have some great restaurants and lots of little shops. And I've heard the aquarium is pretty awesome in Tampa as well.
When we went we were getting married in 2 weeks, so definitely poor and we didn't do a lot of things. But we still had fun.

Steph that's awesome!!! I don't know if we're going down there or not yet, but if we do I'll let you know so we can meet up! (Jordan's a die hard Steelers fan too :))

Ummm...Daytona Beach, baby! It should be free of rednecks for that weekend...NASCAR starts up in earnest the following weekend ;)

Also, Kennedy Space Center is just south of Daytona Beach on the Atlantic side of Florida.

But, yeah, other than visiting my BFF in Orlando LOL, I'd go see Tracyfish!

Okay, seriously....I'd just "be". My family is in Florida, and I lived there some growing up (military, yknow.). And I go every year to see them. If I could go without my kids, I wouldn't do all the other crap. It's all fun, but I'd just relax. Go to Clearwater Beach. Spend time with your friends, enjoy your hubby :)

Lucky dogs you are...I am so jealous!!! I am not sure about Tampa since it has been about 15 years since I was there but I would def do Universal Studios-BOTH parks, it is worth every penny (especially if you like roller coasters and rides in general). We had a lot of fun at Hard Rock too. Epcot is really fun, you can spend the entire day and leave after the firework/laser show.

Have fun, that is what it is about!!!!

How cool! Enjoy your trip. I would be spending 6 days at the beach myself but there are a lot of fun places in Orlando and Tampa so I'm sure you will have plenty to do!

Yay!! That will be lots of fun!

I would suggest taking a drive south of Tampa and going to Siesta Key. It is one of the MOST beautiful beaches in the world, and there are some great restaurants & shops along the drive.

Have Fun!!
