A turkey egg omelet!!!

My dad (who is retired but has been a farmer all his life) got a bug in his butt many months ago to raise him some turkeys. Well they are at the age where they are laying eggs and he must have told my girls that he had eaten some of them because this past weekend when we were there they come roaring in the house with like 6 of them and said grandpa told them they could take them home and eat them. So guess what we had to cook this morning.......

It really did taste just like a chicken egg but I won't lie... after that first bite I think I threw up just a little in my mouth :D but I think it was because I had psyched myself out. I ate the whole thing and then we called my dad and the girls were so excited to tell him they ate them and loved them......so much so that he is bring us more when he comes over this weekend   :D :D :D

He also informed me I was getting this................

For my Thanksgiving Dinner, yes my dad is butchering a turkey for us and bring it over so we can have it for Thanksgiving dinner!!! Anyone wanna come to my house on Thanksgiving!?!?!! :D :D :D

WOW, That egg looks alot bigger.... I would have thrown up a little too... ;)
I get weirded out easy.. LOL!! And GOBBLE GOBBLE, Fresh Thanksgiving Turkey for you guys!!!

I too probably would have psyched myself out a little and not have been able to eat them. I don't know why, it's not THAT different than a chicken's egg.

I bet it was pretty good. I would defenitely try it. My husbands grandmother used to have different birds like geeese, chicken and turkeys and Im pretty sure he told me hes eaten other types of eggs before.

I'm probably the only one, but I think it's cool! If I lived a hundred years ago, I'd probably do well as a farmer's wife. :)
