I do have to say though, as someone who also works retail, it really blows when someone quits no notice and we are all left scrambling. I just hope in the future that you will consider that when leaving jobs. Also, it's hard to get references if you ever need it if you don't leave on good terms. If it was a chain store and you move to another location and need a cashier job or something, a quit no notice almost guarantees that you'd never be rehired by the company, even 5 years down the line.

I'd say getting my feet wet is exactly the thing. It also helped me set up my apartment and get myself on the right track. Can't wait to start this new one!
