it keeps shutting the F :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: down on me! All I had running was messenger, PSE, and Explorer. First time it shut down, I restarted without opening up Explorer.

In the middle of treating my pics, shut down again. No warning, nothing. It's plugged in so it has nothing to do with batteries.

3rd time, I finished treating the pics and started laying them on my page and *POOF* - everything gone!

I'm using Vista Home on a Dell Inspiron. Has anyone had this experience and what did you do? :cursing:

Sam - put the hammer down and take a walk...

Is it overheating? Maybe try doing a scan disc and defrag. I'm sorry I don't know what else to tell you.

I.HATE.DELL.

when that was happening to me it was because my laptop was getting too hot. Feel under it, all over, and see if anything seems warm or hot. I ended up getting a Targus laptop cooler/fan thing and my problems ended.

my 1st thought was overheating too. that can cause unexpected shutdown. I got a notebook fan and haven't had no probs with shutting down since.

Yeah, I would see if it's getting too hot. It could definitely be the culprit.

Sadly, this is also what was happening last time my HD was packing it in. :( So you might want to make sure anything you care about on there is backed up somewhere else.

OK (d-e-e-p breath), I propped it up so that the bottom's facing the floor fan. It seems to be working for now. That's probably it since we're in a heat wave. 1st time for everything. Of course, it has to happen the night my photobook coupon expires and I still have to make the cover and spine.

So....anyone want an artscow coupon? It's for a 30-page photo book at $11.99 with free shipping PM me, but you have to use it today!
