today i went and looked at glasses. because i'm blind dh took photos. please ignore my messy hair! i'm having a hard time choosing.

pair A is silver.

pair B is almost the same shape as c. they are a coppery colored metal.

pair c is plastic tortoiseshell. they have nosepads - which i find weird for plastics.

we'll say d is my current glasses...plastic dark tortoiseshell. just get new lenses.

so pick one! :)

i say current or go try on more :p

*please don't bite me*

i think the A frames make you look significantly older. and i dislike them a lot.I don't know what it is about b and c i dislike but your current ones are def the best out of the 4.

I just got silver square frames and I love them. With your skin color, they would look very nice.

I chose A, because when I first look at the photo, I see YOU. With the other two, the first thing I notice is the glasses.

I'd agree - I wear very plain frames just for that reason alone though next time rather than getting the same frames for my sun tint glasses i'd get some fancier ones

I just picked out new frames yesterday...so hard when the only person to help you decide is the person who works there. LOL I can only see a few inches clearly without my glasses and my lenses make my eyes look smaller (as do yours I think) so it's hard to imagine what you'll truly look like when you get them.

I chose the silver ones, but I like your current ones too!

totally this... I don't like A at all and think they totally make you look older and I'm not real keen on b or c either but really like your current ones.

ok... I couldn't figure out why I didn't like A, but I figured it out... please please please don't hate me :p but I think A makes you look like Richard Gere , who is handsome and yummy but totally not the personality I think you are... I think the reason I like your current ones is because I think they fit your personality... b and c are too "normal" IMO and not funky and fun enough... I guess I think of you as someone who is creative and unique and not so "meh" and the ones you tried on to me are plain and boring :p (this is all coming from the girl who prefers chunky and fun glasses, that aren't just for seeing better but are an extension of my style and a part of my wardrobe) You told me that that green jacket is the only "fun" thing you have in your wardrobe, and I think you should have some fun and add something else that's "fun" to your wardrobe ;) Be brave girl!!!

Of the frames you've shown, I like B best. I do agree that trying on more might be a good idea if you want a less noticeable pair of glasses. I happen to like my frames to stand out from my face. I'd get contacts if I didn't want people to see my glasses. :D

I had to chuckle about the pictures so you could see them as well. We have to do the same for Andrew when he needs new glasses.

I do like B, but if you aren't sure, head back and try more. Glasses are something you need to get right. I need a new pair myself but I am putting it off because it is pure agony for me to try to choose.

I voted for C, but I also really like your current pair. I think they frame your face best. Good luck with your choice!

I say B, because the color and finish make you look younger :) In contrast, it seems like the silver ages you.

I do think your current ones are cute too :)

I think B looks best. When I see your current glasses my first thought is, "she has really black glasses". Whereas with B my first thought is, "she looks like a really nice person!" Just my opinion-you do whatever makes you happiest!

ok this made me smile. thanks heather. i'll go back. want to come to connecticut and help me pick a pair? i am having a hard time because i need a smaller size - a 49 or at the most a 50 - most women's glasses are 52-54!

fellow tiny headed women unite!

lol.. try looking in the section geared for teens. I have the same tiny size issue. I actually bought mine through eyebuydirect not that you can physically try those on, but if you figure out the style you want ahead of time it might give you more options :]

Oh... I soooo hear you!!! My girlfriend used to give me her old hats because she has a big head and they would hurt her and I'd put them on and I was swimming in them LOL!!! I need small frames too and there isn't a lot of variety in the smaller sizes which drives me nuts and honestly stresses me out... they're all the thin wired ones or frameless ones that are soooo not me... they might look good on me but everyone would seriously tell me they don't look right on me because they're used to seeing me with the chunky "artsy" glasses... I seriously had the chunky glasses before they were trendy LOL...

I like La's suggestion to look at the glasses geared toward teens... they might have some that would fit better... or try an online source... tho, that would freak me out not being able to try them on first... I'm a chicken LOL

also... I figured out that the only ones that look right on me are the short rectangle shaped ones... maybe figuring out the shape that looks right on you will help you with ordering online too... I think the short rectangle makes the wider frames not look so awkward on me even though they're bigger than I would normally go for... these I have on now are 49... but the ones in my avi were 51 I believe... and I think they only looked right because they were short and didn't look so big overall.

I am glad you are going back. I also like the ones you have currently the most, but I can't imagine they would hold up forever.

target had a good selection of petites and one that was a little smaller than my current ones that weren't too big but similar. camera phone photo is not so great though. anyhow, still hunting!

and heather i too have been wearing chunky glasses forever. i can't remember the last time i didn't have plastics. my prescription is so bad that i can't wear rimless and even wires are hard. -8.5 and -7.5 ugh!

Have you ever gotten high index lenses? It makes them about half the thickness. Costs a chunk, but it's the only way I can wear glasses. My Rx is about -5 in each eye. I just ordered a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses with high index lenses in the glasses for $300. The high index come with anti-glare and anti-scratch too :)

That's what Andrew gets for his glasses (-8.something in each eye, plus severe astigmatism). Even with high index, he can't get semiimless or rimless. They're still too heavy.
