Girls, this is bad

Max dropped Joel's netbook tonight, and the screen is just black. Nothing. The computer is running but I can't see it because the monitor is, like I said, totally blank.

Is there any hope? I'm feeling so sick about this because we are already planning on getting a new computer for me when we go back to the States in June, and Joel's netbook is not even a year old. He is going to kill me!

Plus, I washed his Blackberry this week and broke it. I just want to cry. {And he'll be mad at ME because he is out of town and was I not supervising my small child but was in fact yes, i'll admit it, scrapbooking in the other room. In my defense I thought that he was watching Jack play the Wii and could actually hear him talking with his brother, so it's not like he was being neglected or anything.}

sounds like the cables may have come loose or else some other part is broken(i had it happen on mine). try hooking it up to an external monitor and see if that works.

Oh dear.... I, too, hope it can be fixed. My dropped her laptop and they were able to get a new screen for it... in the mean time I'd suggest what Jen said about hooking it up to an external monitor. {hugs}

Mine wasn't dropped on the floor, but the bulb burned out, so I got the Black Screen of Death recently, too. My IT BIL loaned me an external monitor which I hooked up to my laptop, hit Fn + F8, and voila... I can use the laptop again! Hopefully, that will work for you, too.

Been there done that. Andrew dropped ours too about a year ago. I was freaking out but after a few hours it magically started working again. I hope yours does too... or its an easy fix! ((Hugs)) I still had to admit it to dh but I said I dropped it Yes I told a lie... slap my hand.
