Ok girls,

So every year the kids and I bake cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve and try a new recipe, and every year, the cookies are just "ok".

So give me your tried and true AMAZING cookie recipes that aren't TOO complex and preferably have chocolate chips in them.

Thanks!

I LOVE magic cookie bars. Really easy and you can even buy a kit for them at your grocery store. Here is the recipe though:

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
* 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
* 1 (14 ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
* 1 cups semisweet chocolate chips
* 1 cup butterscotch chips
* 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
* 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees for glass dish). Coat 13x9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
2. Combine graham cracker crumbs and butter. Press into bottom of prepared pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture. Layer evenly with chocolate chips, coconut and nuts. Press down firmly with a fork.
3. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Cut into bars or diamonds. Store covered at room temperature.

Oh the kit is made by the company that makes Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk. These cookie bars are seriously AMAZING!!!!

Mine doesn't have chocolate chips, but it's super easy and one of my favorites (has been for years!!)....

1 pkg vanilla almond bark
1/2 cup of peanut butter
5 cups of rice krispies (I actually use 6 though)

Melt the almond bark (either on the stove or in microwave). Add the peanut butter and stir until mixed together. Stir in your rice krispies. Spoon onto wax paper and let cool. It seriously takes just minutes to make these. We tried them with both vanilla and chocolate almond bark this year...we usually add christmas sprinkles and voila!!

Ooooh, Laurie those sound easy and good! What size package of almond bark are you using? I think there are 12oz and 16oz packs at my grocery store. I'm looking forward to doing these! Yum!

Ohhhh let me think...they only have 1 size pkg of almond bark at our store...I didn't look at the package but I asked my mom and we are nearly 100% sure it's a pound, lol!!

Sounds similar to my mom's 7 layer bars.

Laurie, I made them and they are a big hit here! Yummo! I got the 16 ounce pack of almond bark and it was the perfect amount. :) Thank you for the new recipe!!

These are super easy - and so good! They are not crunchy - more soft and yummy!!

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softend
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
18 1/4 oz box yellow cake mix
Powdered sugar

1. Beat butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and egg with electric mixer until fluffy.
2. Add cake mix until well blended
3. Refridgerate 30 min
4. Break off dough by teaspoonfuls. Shape into small balls. Roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
5. Bake at 350 for 12 min.

I usually powder them again when they come out of the oven!

How about a bar cookie!?!?! They don't have chocolate chips but they are covered in chocolate!!! :D

Reeses Squares

Ingredients

* 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
* 1 lb confectioners' sugar (3 to 3 1/2 cups)
* 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
* 1 cup butter, melted
* 1 (12 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips

Directions

1. Combine graham crumbs, sugar and peanut butter and mix well.
2. Blend in melted butter until well combined.
3. Press mixture evenly into a 9 x 13 inch pan.
4. Melt chocolate chips in microwave or in double boiler.
5. Spread over peanut butter mixture.
6. Chill until just set and cut into bars (these are very hard to cut if the chocolate gets "rock hard".

Also my all time FAVORITE Christmas cookies are Peanut Butter Blossoms, I use the recipe on the back of Hersey Kisses!!!! Again no chocolate chips but hello.....HUGE Hersey kiss id just as good :D
