Getting back at it! New to SSD :)

Hi there,

My name is Lori, and I'm making an attempt to get back into digital scrapping for the first time in a couple of years. Actually, it's been more like 3 or 4 years, I think! :o I started with digi scrapping back in 2005 when I turned 40 and got a digital camera for a birthday present. I had always been a paper scrapper, but once I went digi, I never went back (although admittedly, I still have a paper stash)!

I was on a few CT's back in the day, but life got busy and I just didn't have time to keep up with it. I just finished my first layout in a long time and will be uploading it shortly. I'm excited to get started again.

My husband Arthur and I live in southern Maine, where I'm a 6th grade teacher, and he works in a machine shop. We have 3 boys, ages 15, 12 and 11.

I look forward to being a part of the community here. Love the products, and I'm already building a stash that I probably won't be able to keep up with! :p
 
Hi Lori!! Welcome to Sweet Shoppe! So glad you decided to get back into digi scrapping. Just jump right in and make yourself at home here! :)
 
Hey Lynnette and Holly.... two people I recognize! Thanks for the welcome! Just uploaded my first layout... gulp. :)
 
Welcome back! :) I did the same as you, started scrapping about the same time, then took a break of a year or two (actually did that more than once, lol!) It's been nice to hop back in here b/c things have not changed so drastically like they have at other places that I used to hang out! :)

Hi Sherri! I know you too lol! Yeah, I didn't plan on it being quite such a long break, but it just sorta happened. My laptop crashed and I lost all my stuff, then I got it fixed but it crashed again.... :thumbdown::thumbdown:
I'm currently using my school laptop that's a Mac, and I bought a new copy of PSE 10 for both Windows and Mac while I figure out whether I'm going to get a new personal laptop.
 
OMG it it SO nice to see you here!!!!!!!! (can you tell I've missed you? lol!)

I feel bad for those of us that have dropped off (can't seem to get Laura A. back in the saddle) because of the memories they're missing the chance to capture. I'm so glad you're wanting to get back at it. If you don't get all fancy-pants you can get lots of stuff done in minimal time. I slacked a bit during ministry school, so I get the busy schedule thing.

Kim! Val! Yay! I didn't know you two hung out here! I hear you on the fancy pants thing, Val... my style has never been too fancy to begin with. That being said, it took me like 3 days to do the first layout after such a long time away... yikes! So much for my plan to do a page a day over vacation! ;)
