Yes, get well soon! I've had this surgery...though it wasn't an emergency surgery. 
It was an outpatient thing, so I was headed home 3 hours after I arrived, and could eat whatever I wanted (what a blessing!) just a few hours later.
Be careful not to overdo it though! I made the mistake of thinking it was no big deal cause I had just a few tiny incisions on the outside, no stitches. I forgot that they still brutalized my insides. So rest up!

I can't believe that you were admitted into hospital, and then took a few minutes, whilst you were in probable discomfort, to e-mail the Saturday news letter! You're a bit of a star, you know

Ditto. Exactly. Don't worry, we are all hopelessly digi-committed to SSD now and will be here cheering when you come back. Which we will be praying is soon! Speedy recovery!
