Gallery File size?

Hi,
I've been lurking here for a while so I better introduce myself first. I'm Kelli, SAHM to 4 beautiful girls. I've been looking into digi since may 06 but just recently started making layouts at the beginning of this year.

Anyways, I wanted to play in the challenges but when I went to upload I got an error message saying that the file exceeded the limit. I didn't see a maximum size amount anywhere so I don't know what size it needs to be. Thanks so much.

I use a free program called InfranView to reduce the size of my images. I take them down to 600 pixels wide and thats always been accepted by this site. Do a google search for InfranView and you should find it. Its come in very handy for this sort of thing.

Welcome! I normally save mine at 500x500. If I have a hard time keeping the size down...I will use the "Save for Web" option in PS. Can't wait to see your LOs!
 
Thanks for your replies. Maybe my question wasn't clear. I have used the save for web option and my file is 500 x 500 and about 150kbs. It wouldn't let me upload it though, so I wondered if there was a certain file size limit?

Hi kelli,

The filesize limit is 150KB. I usually doe 500x500, save for web at around 70 quality to get it under that 150KB mark. Hope that helps and cant wait to see your layouts in the gallery!! Glad you came out of lurking!
