For those of you with bigger boys

Connor has grown so much in the last year - he's now 5'8" and a size 11 foot. He's 12.

I know he'll grow much taller, most likely, but if you had boys who grew tall fast, did their feet continue to grow past this pubescent growth spurt?

My brother Jason had a growth spurt where his feet grew every month. We called him big foot. Lol but eventually his height caught up with his feet. I know my mom said he needed new shoes every month for awhile though.

yes. My son is 15 and still growing taller, feet still growing, and he keeps gaining weight. I joke and say if his feet get much bigger we will just skip shoe shopping and take home the boxes the shoes come in

My son is extremely tall and he has the big feet to match, but they really haven't grown much since he was about 15 or 16. Maybe half a size, but that is it. He's 21 now, so I think he has finally stopped growing, which is a good thing because he is 6'5". :)

Yep, wow. A few years ago when he had his wisdom teeth out, he woke up from the anaesthesia a little groggy and belligerent. He insisted he was fine to go home and despite all my attempts and the little tiny dental assistant to persuade him otherwise, he got up and then promptly passed out. I tried to catch him and ended up going down with him. Trust me, guys that big fall hard. Luckily neither of us were hurt seriously and he learned a big lesson. Do not fall on your mom. LOL

My boys are a lot younger........My "just turned 5 year old" is already over 4 ft tall!!!! He is the size of an average 9 year old!! He looks a bit ridiculous at preschool b/c he towers over all the kids! LMAO I feel so sorry for him! They are anticipating that he will be at least 6'8 by the time he stops growing!!!

DH is almost 6'8 and stopped growing after college. He said he just constantly grew...no big growth spurts. His parents were buying him new clothes several times a year!!!

Kim that is my son to a T. They said he would be any where from 6'5' to 6'8 and I thought holy cow, but the shortest man in my family is 6'2' and I have female cousins who are over 6 feet tall, so I was not surprised. I myself am 5'8 which is on the taller side for a woman. It all stems back to one of my great grandfathers who was 7 feet tall. It is funny to see him in photos with his father's family because he towers over most of them. LOL He does not like being so tall though and slouches a lot to try to hide it. Silly boy!

I too have a big guy - just turned 15 September 3 - he is 6' - and size 11 shoes!! Taller than both Mama and Papa bear!! I have had this conversation with some friends - is it just me - or are today's kids getting bigger - faster?? A lot of people - believe it's the hormones in our food?? Growth like this is hard on the wallet!! LOL

Honestly there is something to that. There are a lot of enzymes used in food production these day that make fruits and veggies bigger too. Since we are ingesting it when we eat said food it only makes sense that we are affected.

YES - I never really thought about it much until my friend mentioned it to me .... certainly makes sense to me - but - it is definitely scary too!!

My oldests son's feet did the same thing and they finally stopped at 11.5 but he is now 6 feet tall. So he grew into those giant feet. I wouldn't worry their bodies catch up to the feet and the feet normally do stop.

It's the feet thing I'm worried about, lol. Do we spend $40 on shoes that he's going to outgrow in another 3 weeks... we bought him tennis shoes last month that he's already grown out of. I can't keep spending money on stuff like this every month LOL

I agree that kids feet are bigger now! My older boys' feet stopped growing in high school, but they are still growing in height.

Darcy - it's hard when they keep outgrowing stuff. I just tell myself I'm blessed to have only boys who only wear one pair of shoes at any given time, for the most part. If I had girls who needed shoes for every outfit, I'd be broke!
