So.. we just switched all our computers over to Windows 7.. and my font manager of choice.. The Font Thing.. doesn't work in Windows 7. Any suggestions for me? I NEED a font manager. Preferably a free one. :D

I don't mind Windows 7...but I haven't transferred my fonts over from my other laptop yet.

What's a font manager??

Now I will have to double check my font manager will work with Windows 7 before I upgrade. Mine isn't free, but it is fabulous. I use Extensis Suitcase Fusion 2.

Actually now that I went and linked their website... I did see that it is compatible with Windows 7. :) I have used loads of free font managers and none of them even come close to Extensis Suitcase. Just my 2 cents. :D

Perfect timing! DH just upgraded mine too and I was thinking about having to reload The Font Thing again!

Thanks Darcy for the link!!! I don't use a font manager all that often, but I do when I NEED to! So thank you both!

How did you ACD work when you switched over - My DH has Windows 7 for me but I am scared that some of my programs won't work in 7 - I just spent 2 weeks tagging all my kits and don't want to loose all my tags if we switch over -

ACDSEe installed just fine. No problems. I didn't convert my tags though because the desktop doesn't have them, but with how uneventful the rest of the reinstall of it went, I'm sure it will be fine if you follow their directions for doing that part.

I'm going to give it a few weeks to see how it goes before I let DH at my lappy, that is where I have tags and a bunch of other stuff (it is my scrapping computer) so I'm way more nervous about stuff there! It should be fine though. So far Windows 7 is good, faster definitely. Little stuff to get used to, but that is OK.

I did install the font manager that Darcy linked and the only problem I had was that it wanted an older version (and not just a service pack) of some files and DH had to find and install them. But now it works. I have a lot of fonts!!!
