Font help!

Soooo... there are a few blogs I'd visit every now and then and their fonts were way wonky on my computer. All this time I thought maybe they were using a font that wasn't installed on my computer so my browser was substituting. Turns out, they were using a font that should be on every computer (Times... not Times New Roman). So, I went to check and Times on my computer does NOT look the way it should. I know better than to mess with default fonts... can a font go corrupt? How do I fix it?

I had that happen to me on my Mac with the Ariel Font... still not sure how it got missed up, like you, those don't get touched...LOL! What I did was uninstalled the whole family and reinstall... and that fixed it. Good luck!

Are you sure it's not Times New Roman? I don't have a plain "Times" font installed on my machine, and from what I've googled it's not a default font.

I'm sure it's Times. I found a list of default fonts (can't find it now) but both Times and Times New Roman are on there. In Blogger, Times is an option for your blog and it looks way different on my computer than it does for others.

Yea but there must be a setting somewhere to change what it defaults to when you don't have that font installed. Is "Times" in your font folder? If it's not on your machine then whatever it's defaulting to is wonky. Times is a pay font everywhere I've looked.

K, I found that list, apparently it's default on Macs, not PCs. But for whatever reason, my computer says it's installed, even though it looks completely wrong. lol I'm just gonna deal with the weird blogs and not worry about fixing it now... because I'm supposed to be gettin' a new iMac in 2 months. :D ;)

Well, if you get tired of weird fonts, try changing the settings in your options menu of your internet browser. Tools> options> content.

I had that problem a while back. I had apparently installed a font called 'Times' and with the way some websites are coded they'll grab that font first instead of Times New Roman. I just uninstalled the 'Times' font. It didn't screw anything up and it definitely saved my eyesight and my sanity :)

Hope that helps!
