FONT Addiction

Might need a support group :p I just spent 2 days downloading and installing more font for the Typography challenge -- My last total was 5543 font! :rolleyes:

Do you use a font manager program? It basically makes it so you don't have to install ALL.THE.Things (since I too have too many fonts!) ;)
 
I have definitely gone through periods of font addiction, but because they make PS latent, so I stopped!
 
I used to collect them all the time. I still have them, but I don't have them install in PS. I usually always use Traveling Typewriter for my journaling and Stamp for my dates.

I would definitely be a part of that group! I'm afraid to even look at how many fonts I have. I think looking would be admitting I have a problem :D

I use FontBase and it’s been so helpful! It’s not just a way to see all your fonts and test out how specific words will look using a variety of fonts - it also turns fonts on and off at will so that they don’t bog down your graphics program.
 
Welcome to the club! I have so many fonts that I will probably never use all of them in my lifetime!

I use https://wordmark.it/ to decide what fonts to use. It's online, so it isn't another program to download. You can type in whatever you want to write and it will show you what it looks like in each font you have on your computer. I think it's pretty cool. Especially for those of us who have older computers and don't want to get a new one (ok, it's me! I'm the problem! I don't want a new one!)!
 
I'm pretty sure I use FontBase as well (can't check at the moment as computer is dead) but love it for all the same reasons Karli does
 
This FontBase Program is fantastic -- you can preview all your fonts, and even better, you can organize them into categories you create (like script or Christmas, etc.). And best of all it is free! Thanks for the tip

This is me!

For titles, I use various ones that aren't usually the same ones I use for journaling.

One of my go-to journaling fonts is Century Gothic. If I need to squeeze a lot into a small space, I often use Abadi MT Condensed Light. I don't have a go-to for serif fonts. I have so many of those that I just kinda pick one.

me too!! I'm afraid to see how many I have eek I know it's a lot. My Daughter call me Brick from the show The Middle because he was obsessed with fonts lol
 
I've been using a font manager for over a decade, and I can't imagine life without it. In my case, as a PC user, my manager of choice is called MainType by HighLogic. It's got plugins for the Adobe products so if a font isn't installed on your machine when you open a document that uses it, it can automatically load it if it's in your font library. Their recent update added all sorts of user interface tweaks that I really like. And I've got tags and groups so I can quickly look up my favorite fonts, journaling fonts, scripty fonts, awesome fonts for titles, etc.

I try to keep my active, installed font list to at or below 500. That seems to be the sweet spot given my current system memory configuration. But the current running total of fonts I have in my library? 18,711 fonts.

I'd say we need a 12-step program, but that would first require wanting to change, and I don't wanna. My name is Angie, and I am addicted to fonts.

I've never heard of this one, Angie. I'll have to look into it and compare! :)
