Folks near Nashville, Tn or willing to drive

Anyone in driving distance of Nashville interested in getting together to scrap?

I have been tossing an idea around my head (it keeps the cobwebs in check :) ). I thought it would be fun to see if any scrappers who lived near Nashville, or could drive to Nashville, to get together for a scrap day. Our church has a really nice gym and we could set up tables and have food and fellowship and scrap! I used to love to go to crops when I did traditional scrapping and thought it would be fun to get together with other digi scrappers. Would any of you be interested?

I would SO love to do that and meet you!! I wish I was in that area!

I was having monthly get-togethers here. I started calling them "Crafty Days" because several of my previous digiscrappers have moved onto different crafts. Hopefully once we settle the sale/move of our house I can start again.

I have met so many wonderful ladies through digiscrapping. There are 3 ladies that I met through Sweet Shoppe who have attended my Crafty Day.

Oh, Tammy! That sounds like so much fun! I wish you lived closer too!

I wish we did, too!! I absolutely love meeting digi-friends in person!
We're putting our house back on the market this month. I LOVE Idaho, but if I could talk hubby into moving closer to Florida (our grandbabies & two of our kids are there) I would!

Oh, Tammy! That would be wonderful!! We have family near Jacksonville in Florida. :)

That sounds fun! Unfortunately all our extra money is tied up in wedding stuff and travel to CA for our College graduate in a couple months!

Where in CA? I am in SF Bay Area

We visited San Francisco about 12 years ago. We went in June so we thought it would be all warm and sunny! We froze! ha!ha! We bought sweat shirts and then someone told us it was called "The Sweatshirt Capital of America"! We went to Carmel as well and then up to Rescue, CA where my sister-in-law used to live. It was so beautiful there!

That is CA weather for you...this past SAT it was a very warm 70 degrees- in FEB!!

It would be SO fun to meet up and have a scrappy day or weekend!

Many years ago, when Digital Scrpabook Place was still in business, I flew out to Cali and met up with 3 digi-friends. (And it happened that my nephew and his family had also flown there from IL at the same time, so we spent time together too). My digi friends and I scrapped the morning away and then walked around San Diego and went to Disney together. It was a blast!! And, all these years later, we still keep in touch!

That is awesome, Jill, and sounds like so much fun! Let me know if you ever come this way! I would so love to meet in person!

Evelyn, that sounds like such fun! I'm in the Dallas area, so unfortunately it would be about a 10 hour drive. We might be going to Maine this summer, though, and would drive through Nashville on our way. Maybe I could convince my husband to relax in the hotel for a day while I scrapbook with you... :)

It feels like Tennessee should be closer, but it's like an 8.5 hour drive for me :(

I've been tossing the idea around for a virtual crop though if anyone wants to help me brainstorm on that?!

She goes to school in Riverside (slightly SE of Los Angeles). We don't know where she will be after graduation though. She has looked into jobs all over the place (Iowa, FL, CA). We just know she won't be coming back to MI for work (she is a set design/technical major, so no real theaters, shows or venue work in MI).

I knew you were in CA, I just didn't know where!

CA is such a difference for her. We are used to 4 seasons. She basically gets 2, with some rain in the winter months! Crazy! When we are having -10* temps, she was in the 80s!

That sounds like fun! Would it be like a zoom meeting where we all log in?

Yeah! At least that’s my vision…

Have the call open for a couple of hours and people could pop in as they can. We could all do screen share instead of face cams so we can see what everyone else is working on, and we could just work and chit chat.

I’m not sure in practice how it would go or how chaotic it would be, but I think it would be fun to try.

Great area for her! My DD1 would like to transfer to a So Cal school for her 3rd year. I heard it is really tough these days for recent grads to find jobs. I hope she finds something she loves.

That sounds like fun! Honestly, I'm pretty embarrassed for anyone to see me scrapping... I'm so chaotic! I will add 10 papers before I find the one I want :D But, I'm willing to try.

I'm pretty sure my friend's daughter graduated from to the same school.

I hope your daughter is able to find work that she loves.

It was glorious moving from CA to ID where we have 4 seasons! 80 degree weather is nice and all, but I found it redundant! lol
