Another lover of the CHI! My friend (and stylist) recommended it to me - it's what she uses. She has it on ALL day (8 hours), and it still worked perfectly 2 years later. She recently had it in for repairs because it broke when she dropped it (but she said that she'd dropped it at least once a day for 2 years, and it only just broke).
A CHI is pricey, BUT if you get a certified one (made in the USA, not in China, Hong Kong or Japan - those are knockoffs), its got a lifetime warranty. You just send it in if it breaks or stops working properly, and they'll either fix it or send you a new one! So awesome!
Also, CHI makes a wet hot iron. The plates have vent holes and you can use it when your hair is still damp. Erin (my stylist) uses it on me and it steams like crazy, but when she's finished pulling it through, that strand is dry! A HUGE timesaver if you have thick hair that needs to be blown out first (like your's looks like it might??)...
