First day of school pictures

Do we have a thread for that yet? I scrolled through and didn't see one so I hope I didn't miss it and am making a duplicate topic. I know lots of our kiddos have started back over the last few weeks and my baby just went back today.

Last year I took a picture of her every morning during the first week of school and later did a layout of it. I plan to do that again this year. But, here is my baby on her first day of 10th grade. I cried a little, I admit.

My son started on the 16th, he's a sophomore now! Sadly, now that his sister is away at college he doesn't let me do 'first day of school' pictures anymore! He only let me get away with it before because his sister was totally up for it and they'd take pics together - but now, he thinks he's off the hook. Makes me sad! LOL! I'm hoping to convince him this week to let me take one, even though it won't be the 'first day' anymore.
 
Today was our first day, but the weather from hurricane Issac is making any outdoor photos impossible. Maybe tomorrow?

We are in Southern Palm Beach County, south of West Palm Beach. These bands of rain and wind are crazy!!! It's been a yucky, stormy day. In fact, we just had a power outage for 30 minutes. Much worse than I expected. :thumbdown:
 
Here's ours!! We spend our first day doing all the fun stuff we can while everyone else is in school. We'll do something a little more 'schoolish' later this week, I'm sure.

Here are my "boys"... my hubby is taking a class at the tech for work and tonight is his first class... so I had him humor me. :D Kiddo probably won't start until the 10th, earlier if I can get ready sooner (he is homeschooled)...

Ugh Brittney - be still my heart. That is soooo adorable.

Rebecca - that is too funny. At least he is a good sport about it. Jonathan prolly wouldn't do that for me.
 
We just started our 4th week of school, but here's mine.

I did a side-by-side of my high school senior with his pre-school pic. I missed taking his pic the last 2 years because of sports, so I was insistent this year and he cooperated nicely. :) Next year I won't be around him for his first day. :(

I was just happy they had color-coordinated clothes on so the pics would be easy to scrap. ;)

What sweet photos! I didn't realize so many of us have first and third graders. Mine will be starting 3rd and 1st next week and preschool the week after. I'm kinda sad that my older 2 won't be in the same school this year; they really liked seeing each other in the halls last year.
 
Love all the signs that everyone did. Megan had one too that she wrote out in her handwriting. I love it because she misspelled sophomore as sophmore. But, I didn't want her to redo it as that would change the memory. ;)

I love your cut out sign Tracy! I thought of doing that but didn't want to cut out the word sophomore. I am so dingy sometimes that I didn't even think of cutting out 10th! Duh....geez.
 
After school on the first day, I took Landon out on a photo shoot. SO much fun. I love this second grader. I can't believe he is getting so big but I love how he "lets" me do this crazy mommy photog stuff. :)

such GREAT pictures everyone!! my girls don't start for another week, but i'm getting some good ideas about what type of pictures to take :)
