Fibromyalgia

I suspect I have it, but my doctors aren't willing to go there "yet" since "all you need to do is lose the weight and you'll be fine." My mom's been living with it for about 15 years now, though not always under that name.

Leila - Have you seen a rhuematologist? I hate it when doctors don't listen to their patients. I have been dealing with symptoms for over 9 years and no one EVER thought of Fibromyalgia. I finally went to a rhuematologist and he put it all together for me! Thank goodness....now just hoping to feel better.

kim - are you taking any meds or doing any treatments for it?

I went to the chiropractor for years to help with the pain but since getting married, changing doctors and new insurance I can't get them to pay or be referred to a chiropractor. My new doc did give me a prescription for Lyrica which is AWESOME but VERY, VERY expensive. I can't afford $50 for a 7 day supply...that is WITH insurance!!! My doc has given me samples when he has had it and I save those for bad flair ups.

My most painful symptom is the burning in my back, which makes it very difficult to walk, lift and get out of bed. As I type this I can feel the burning starting in my back so I am going to be calling it a night soon. I also have a lot of pain in my elbows and knees making it very difficult to bend or pull my boys in a wagon on some days. The Lyrica helped all of this and even helped the pain from my cracked tailbone...I had a very fast delivery of a 9+ lb baby boy and cracked my tailbone!!! I just wish I could take it all the time. I also have tons of pain in my neck and get frequent headaches/migranes too.

If you have any other questions ask away!!!
