feelin' sorry for myself-hugs please!

The weather is really nasty! Ice and snow something horrible. Well I was just fine with it until last night about 11pm and my power went off (right when I was starting one of my challenge layouts) so I just went to bed (still fine with it). My big plan for today if the weather had gotten as bad as pridicted was to just take the day off ,do whatever I wanted and not leave the house. But once the power was gone, that plan went right out the window. Woke up this morning, still no power (of course) and it's freezing cold. So I had no choice. If I want to be warm I needed to go to work. I look out and what do I see, my Liberty is covered in snow and I have no boots!!! So I get in the car (feet all wet by now) , turn it on and wait for the warmth to help defrost the car. OnceI finally get the windows cleared enough to drive, I back out of the driveway (4wd engaged so I think I'm invincible) , and I ran over some fallen limbs. Well now the car is flashing that I need to have to my "parking assist system" checked out. And then while I was walking into my work building I almost fall. Well let me tell you, if I fall there ain't no getting up without lots of help so that's always my biggest fear in this weather. Oh and did I mention, I needed to do laundry so i have some clean clothes (I procrastinate) and my hot water heater isn't working so I've been heating water in the microwave to have hot water.

I hope the rest of the day goes better and the damage is easily repaired. :(
 
I know how you're feeling! Last winter we had a huge ice storm that literally shut this entire state down for days, and right now we're stuck inside for the third day in a row because the roads are covered with ice. Thankfully we didn't lose power this time, but if DH doesn't go back to work tonight we're going to be late paying some bills!
 
When it rains,it pours it seems (so to speak), i'm so sorry hon :(. I've had days like that. Big hugs for ya.
 
Yikes! That does not sound fun at all. My hubby is a trucker and he called me a little while ago. He is in your area and they had to pull over cuz it got bad. Hope the weather gets better!
 
Thanks everybody, just got access to a computer to read all your hugs...thet are sure appreciated, well still no power but got a hotel room and I just chilled out last night......tried not to worry about what I can't change! the one thing I missed was my nightly catch up here and getting my challenges done. but there's always next month (unless I get power back tomorrow, then I can scrap like a crazy woman on Sat!!!!)
