Father's Day Gift Ideas

Have any of yall thought about what to make for Father's Day? I am all about gifts that are homemade when it comes to Father's Day. If anyone has any cute ideas, I would love to hear them.

Does anyone have any Father's Day kits coming out in the next week?
 
Great Idea! Artscow has great gift ideas. I think I might design a mouse pad since my husband is a software engineer and works with computers all day.

Has anyone ordered a mouse pad from Artscow? How was the quality?
 
Becky, if you find that layered album you were looking for.. I took that album last year, and made one for Jeff.. instead of Happy, i put daddy down the sides. :)

I think that is what I am going to do. I can't find it in my stash so I am going to have to buy it :)
 
I got the kids matching t-shirts (pink for the girls, brown for my little guy) that say "My Daddy Rocks" and am going to take pics of them and do a collage for him. I print it for him to frame in his office and also send him the file so he can use it as his work desktop. :thumbup: I also got him this really cool decanter to go in his office. It's from the 70's and looks like our alma mater's mascot. :thumbup:

I ordered a mouse pad from them around Christmas and I'm really happy with the quality. (Which surprised me because I'm not too hot about the quality of the photobook I ordered from them at the same time). I would suggest that you make sure there's a good border around the outside to make up for the rounded edges and weird sizes. Luckily the layout I got printed on mine had a white background, so I just made the background a little bigger when I made my image to have printed on it. :)

the kids are buying their daddy a new williams sonoma grilling cookbook. :)

i am giving my hubby a gift that cannot be made nor purchased. ;)

Well dh told me that the ONLY thing he wants for Father's Day is a very good Norelco razor. That is it that is all.

...but I think I am giving him what he REALLY wants for father's day...just like Lizzy is giving her hubby...

...oh and I think the boys are going to buy him bowling shoes...because starting this week they are bowling in a family league together...the 2 boys and dad.

...big question...do I go each week to watch and cheer them on...or take advantage of an empty house and go dance naked in the living room? ...ummm I mean scrapbook without the constant interruptions...yeah that's what I mean... ;)

stay home! One thing I'm learning is letting my guys have their "male bonding time" is important. Even though I sometimes miss out on some fun, the impact of the guys just having some time together is really great. :)

Also, just plan on getting that kit from Traci and Susan... it is great for fathers! I can't wait to get it myself!

I don't remember the size I made it- but the site has a recommended size- and I doubled it cuz the size the had seemed small. I made sure I kept it at 300 dpi, too. Let me see if I can find what the site says...

the site says 950 x 800 or Higher So I did, like 1900 x 1600 at 300 dpi
 
my hubby says the best gift (besides that ONE gift he loves) I ever gave him was the smoker. He really uses it a LOT and really enjoys smoking chicken, ribs (oh yum), or brisket...and he makes the BESTEST brisket I have ever ate in my life!

I got him the BBQ Grillware Model 1000 smoker (I'm sure there is prob a newer model out) that is an upright smoker attached to a propane tank. He didn't even know he wanted one... so he was VERY surprised when I bought that for him last year...if I remember right...for our anniversary.

I am giving my dh his own font. I thought he would really enjoy that to use at his work. He's also getting money on his Starbucks card and a money clip I had made at Artscow.
 
Ugh yeah I have no idea what to get the man this year for fathers day. I know he did nothing for me. We did however go out to lunch as a "family" then I ended up getting stomach flu that night and blah such a mess. But he didn't get me a gift or a card even so not sure what I am going to do. I will have to think on it.
 
I got the usual flowers for mother's day. I was going to get him a polarizing filter for his camera, but he went and bought it! Grrr!

So I need a new plan. Not sure what, but I'm going into the City tomorrow, and that expands my options significantly. I may just get him a big fat gift card to Chapters (our book store) because he loves books.
 
Well, DH is not a Daddy, so he gets nothing! lol And, we'll be on a road trip w/my parents sharing a hotel room, so he's really getting nothing! LOL :p
But, I have a Daddy. lol And, he desperately needs a new wallet! So, I found him this awesome U. of Michigan wallet at Fossil. It's pretty...even if it is Michigan! lol I wanted SO bad to be mean & get him a U. of Alabama wallet, but couldn't make myself be that mean! lol :)
 
I'm hoping to get a LO finished and get it printed and framed for my Dad to hang up in his office area (he works from home a lot).

Since we don't have kids yet, I don't have to worry about Jordan. :p
 
For DH, the kids will probably pick out a Father's Day hat/t-shirt combo from Target as always, but I'm not getting him anything.
