Facebook question

I'm pretty FB savvy, but I wondered, does anyone know if there's a way to block people from being able to add you to groups? People can add you now without having to ask you, and I was added to two groups overnight. I was able to leave the groups just fine, but is there a way to prevent this from happening in the first place?

under privacy settings it says "friends can check me into places". Is that what enables/disables it? I have never been added to a group without my knowledge I do not think but that is the only thing I saw that might stop it. Im just not sure what it means that friends can check you into places?

I didn't know they could do that (although I did see where you can turn notifications off about it) ... Don't like that idea at all!

yeh i had that happen the other day.. twas weird. it doesn't seem like the normal groups- like it didnt show up on my list of groups kwim? it was more like alist feature..

isn't like they're making a "group" of friends so that when they hit that group, only the updates from people in that group will show? I'm added to one person's group and it's called "coworkers." I haven't worked with this person for six months and although I like her personally, I don't like being lumped in with all the people who used to harrass me. I haven't left the group yet because I don't want to offend her. Then again, I haven't seen her in six months so why do I care again...

The groups I'm talking about are the same as the old groups, the only difference I can see is that they can add you without asking. I got into 2 groups for local stuff overnight last night, and I don't care to associate with some of those people LOL
