Now that FB has changed their design AGAIN, I am totally confused. I used to keep my FB setting such that it went directly to just status updates....I didn't want to view all the news feeds info. Right now, I am seeing when any friend comments on other friends' post or wall or whatever...it is just way too much info and it is driving me nuts. I just want status updates. Is there anyway to switch it back to that?

Of course, I tried to figure it out for myself, but that is like trying to crack the freakin DaVinci Code.

Anyone?

Susan, I don't know of a permanent fix, but Leila told me that if you click Friends on the left bar, then status updates, you can see just their status updates. It doesn't stay like that when you go back to the "home" page though.
 
Half the time the feeds aren't even showing up for me! Ugh. And I used to like seeing just the status updates for Farmville to see if I missed anything to click on, now I can't figure out how :-(
 
The feeds are only showing info that is from Saturday for me, if they show at all... it's driving me crazy!
 
Mine was still the same old Facebook until tonight. ARGH! What the heck are they doing with all the changes? I'm not a fan Facebook. Not a fan.
 
I had mine set up the same way!!! I hate geting all those game updates of all 300 friends!! It gets hard to sift through to see how people are doing!!! I still haven't figured out!!!! Arg!!!!!
 
I hate the new facebook. Give me the old one where i can see friend's status updates and farmville feed. That's all I want daggone it. :thumbdown:
 
I think I've had the new feed for a while now. I've adjusted already; it doesn't bother me at all. Give it time, you won't even remember what the old one looked like in a few days.
 
I wish they'd stop changing it all the time. What's annoying me most is that my feed is randomly freaking out (not showing recent posts) and people I hid from my feed aren't hidden anymore and I'm going to have to hide them again. :cursing:
 
you can have your homepage just showing status updates. I made mine that way last time they changed it, as thats all im really interested in. I barely ever actually look at the newsfeed...I think all i did was on the left hand side where you have newsfeeds, photos, status update etc etc, click more so they all show. Then u just drag status updates to the top of your list...hopefully that works for you...id try it, but i dont want to mess my page up! haha
 
I have to say that compaired to the last change - I like it -It is much easier to use now - but I do wish they would just pick a style and sick with it!!!!
 
Now that I learned how to use... BOOM! They changed it! I couldn't be more confuzzled w/ FB! :huh: I am officially a FB retarded. LOL

I no longer have the status updates on the left now after this new update. So beware!!! Yours may be changing soon, sounds like they are starting in a few networks and working their way around. Maybe if enough of us complain they will change it back! All I have now is news feeds. And if I click on friends I don't get any option for status updates either so I'm stuck learning how pebbles is now friends with bam bam and scooby doo commented on daffy duck's profile. Ugh! Really who cares! All we want is our stuff and our friends status updates!!
 
They can never just leave well enough alone, can they. And no, even if every single person complains, they will not change it back.

I haven't been hit with the new look yet. In a week or two we'll all be used to it again.
 
I haven't got the new FB yet either, but I've seen how it looks because my daughter's has switched and I don't like it!

Yeah, I think there must have been two changes this time. Some changed to what many have already had... and those that already had it changed to something else. Mine is like you said now, except, I do have status updates under friends. Weird.

However, my feed is always whacked. I have to refresh a lot and yesterday, at one point, it was empty. so weird.

I wouldn't mind all the changes if it was making it all better.
 
How can one just see Status updates that are current? I click status updates and it's from yesterday and the day before. I'm going crazy.
 
I got the new facebook a few days ago and commented on it (on my status) that I HATED it. I've had about 4 or 5 days with it now, and STILL hate it. I can't figure anything out. I'm getting status updates & newsfeeds from up to a month ago, but no new stuff! And I HAD it set before to hide a bunch of stuff (like Megan), and its all back. And yeah, I completely DO NOT CARE who comments on someone elses status, who got a high score in Mafia Wars, who is now friends with XYZ...
 
I just don't understand their need to constantly change things. It must somehow benefit them but I can't for the life of me see what irritating their users gets them. I know that since the switch before this one I've seen a decline in the use by my friends. It used to be a constant stream of status updates and pictures uploaded and now I can miss a day or two checking in and not miss much :-(

Mine just got changed. I don't think it's that big a deal.

As far as hiding people, if you go down to the bottom of your feed, click on edit options. You can hide people that way. And if you hover next to a feed you don't want to see (like a game score or whatever), the "hide" button should still show up. It does on mine.
 
If it would just work right I'd be okay with it...it's just like others have said..my status updates are totally wonky...oh and I had my firefox adblock fixed on the old fb so that I never saw ads and now I'm seeing them which I HATE.

Who is Facebook to say what I read and don't read. Since mine has changed over I haven't received one status update from any of my friends that I "chatted" with most. Nor from anyone who use to comment on my wall a lot!!! It's like FB is trying to break up my little "clique" :mad: That's no bueno :D :D
 
I guess Im the only one who actually likes the changes LOL. I get so many notifications so I could not veiw them all in the little window before. Plus I like how it is all simplified in the left corner now. So much more streamlined IMO
 
Mine just switched over an hour ago. here is my problem. "top news" is from yesterday. "Most recent" is from over an hour ago except for one time when it had stuff from the past hour but I clicked applications to check something & when I came back to the home page most recent was again over an hour ago & all the updates that had been there were gone. Why can't I see actual honest to god updates?
