EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! We have an infestation!

Ewwww on my entry window this morning there are hundreds of these little hopping bugs. :cursing::cursing: After a little googling, it looks like they're called springtails? I've never seen them before but ick!!! Anyone have any experience getting rid of them?:cursing::cursing:
 
I googled how to get rid of them and it said if yuo get rid of the moisture that attracts them they will leave. Im guessing though if you just used regular bugspray it would kill them. It does say they do not bite and are not harmful but they do look icky. We get infestations of ladybugs at our house sometimes so bad they cover the whole window (on the outside of the house) and while I generally leave them alone because they are good insects it is kinda freaky to see so many in one spot.
 
We had them BAD one year...we still get them a little every year. They are mainly around tubs, showers, sinks. There is really only one or two bug sprays to get rid of them. If you go to Lowes look at the spray until you find one that says springtails or call an exterminator and make sure you tell them you want something that will kill them and they have to spray about 2 feet away from the house all the way around the house. The bugs come in looking for water. They do not bite though, so they wont hurt you.
 
We had those. They are yucky! Our pest control guy came and sprayed the outside of the window where they were getting into the house, and they went away. They're so small they could get through the window screen and the seal around the window!

You and me both. :mad: They are everywhere this year and no one seems to know why. I don't remember them from previous years????? There are literally hundreds of them by light. You should see Jim's computer screen at night when the lights are off ... :D ... kind of funny, but not. ;) Another friend was complaining on FB and called them 'jumping bugs" because they kept jumping down her shirt. Hehe. If you find the cure to get rid of them IM me. I would LOVE to know!!
 
We had those one summer. I've heard they are called springer bugs as well. They are annoying but harmless. We used to have them mostly hanging in our tub and apparently, they can come in through the plumbing line. We see a few every years but not as bad as that first summer. They annoyed my DH the most LOL so he was spraying the bug spray. I just made sure it was organic bug spray :)
