Ewww...they're having a flamingo baby!

Ugh.......Yep...the flamingo is pregnant and they had been keeping it from me...they couldn't keep it from me any more...I went to go get Nathan from his dad's house to take him on vacation for two weeks (we are chillin' on vaca right now). Anywhoo....I rang the doorbell and XH answered the door and he closed his cell phone and he says, "sorry...I'm a little shook up, DW just had a car accident...some idiot ran into the jeep" and I said "that's horrible, is she ok?" and he says "yeah, it just shook me because I was talking on the phone with her when it happened." And I say, "is she still coming to Nathan's gymnastics class?" (we were all going before Nathan and I left out of town) and he says "no, she has to go to her OB because she's 4 months pregnant."

jaw drops.

I just knew it.

She had never taken any interest in Naomi and when I was over there in June she was wanting to hold Parker, etc.

They also had moved into a bigger house the first of July. I seriously had to call Tabatha when I got out to the car and had Nathan listen to his mp3 player so I could whine to her..my hands were shaking and I felt like someone punched me in the stomach...(btw she was fine)

I knew they would have a baby eventually, she's never had one, she's like 22 and they've been married 2 years. But it still stinks because the main sticking point in XH's and my marriage was that he didn't want any more kids (VEHEMENTLY) and I really really did so that's why Nathan was 4 when we divorced and 5 when I remarried and 6 when I had Naomi. I didn't want to waste any time since I always wanted a bigger family and XH always refused. :glare:

aLright, that was the only point of the story. I am miffed that they were keeping it from me. And it just plain sucks, period. :thumbdown:

Big Ole Hugs to you, on the upside, I bet Nathan will be a wonderful big brother-just like he is to Naomi and Parker.
Have I mentioned that I have the worst Ex-Husband EVER.
 
That's really crappy that they kept it from you.
And, I'd totally be mad too, considering the reason why you and XH got the divorce in the first place.

Big Hugs!! Nothing you can do about it, so just let it go into the universe and enjoy your vaca with your family! :)
 
I'm sure it hurts a little, even though you're happy now. BTW, how old is DH and. 22 seems really young. Hugs girl!
 
That wasn't very nice they kept it from you and I can imagine what your feeling considering the "having more kids" was the main reason for your split up. :( <<<HUGS>>> I'm sorry Lena.
 
Ugh, men suck. Ex-men with new wives suck more, lol.

My friend went through a horrible custody battle where her ex won because he was all "hey, I just got married" (he always refused to marry my friend), but left out the REASON he got married...he knocked up the new girlfriend. So they kept it from my friend for as long as they could, but one day it slipped (it was really easy to keep it from her because they live in separate states). :thumbdown:
 
I'm sorry Lena! That is horrible! I can't stand exes and their lies!

Enjoy your vacation and leave that behind you (as much as possible!)...
 
Wow Lena I am SO sorry! I can only imagine how you must be feeling, especially considering the reason you split in the first place! So not cool! My bestfriend just went through this with her ex!! big hugs!!
 
Laura, he is 30...I'm 28...and she's 22.

But to clarify...we didn't split up because he didn't want more kids. I was unhappy because he didn't want more kids. We split up because he cheated on me with her. I am of the mindframe that we could have tried to work through it, but he wanted to be with her. He and I had been married 5 years. (married young).

Thanks girls for the comisseration. I'm trying to enjoy my time without thinking about it! But it still smarts.
 
Aw, that sucks. That's just not the way to find out about it.

Just imagine them having a flamingo for a baby.... you know, with a really long pink neck and long legs with webbed feet. Think about the flamingo girl swaddling THAT!
 
So sorry Lena! It's really not what you needed after you had the crummy week last week regarding current DH. Your ex sounds like a confused man - probably better that you're not married to him anymore - he might just put the current wife through what he put you through when you were married.
Good luck in dealing with all this!
 
My ex sorta did the same thing, but instead of his new wife having another baby, he adopted her 2 kids and is supporting them totally, adoption is something he swore he would never do. So now if something happens to him, his assets are split between 4 kids, instead of his own 2 kids. The thing that sucks totally about that, is those 2 kids' dad still gets them half time, just got out of the child support and other financial obligations. BTW my ex only gets our kids for about 12 HOURS a month, he's almost entirely dropped out of their lives.

Men (especially exes) really do suck
 
Oh Lena - how terrible you must be feeling knowing that he didn't want any more kids and now she's pregnant! Did it seem like he was happy about it? Hang in there and know that you've got the best deal out of it all - your 3 kids!!
 
That wasn't right. Ex husbands really do suck! Mine cheated on me during my third pregnancy and then told his "girlfriend" I got him drunk took advantage of him and got myself knocked up. In the end we got into an argument over HER and he pushed me down the basement stairs and I lost the baby. We have been divorced since shortly after that and now he wants to go and have a baby with this new girl. When it starts bothering you go give your kiddos a great big hug. Have a good time with Nathan! and the other kiddos too
 
awwww, Lena, don't give them any power by being upset over it, they knew you'd get upset and withheld it from you for dramatic effect. I'd be completely indifferent by it, that would be your best revenge.

awww, lena! that sucks! I do think the best thing is for you to not show them that it upsets you. And just to prove a point you should get them a lovely baby present... perhaps a baby blanket... covered in flamingos! :) They would think it's a nice gift, but everytime you see it you could get a good chuckle!
