Los Angeles (E! Online) - NBC is bringing out the big guns for its 15th and final season of ER. The big, nostalgia-laden, tear-inducing guns.

E! News has confirmed that original ER castmember Anthony Edwards, who played Dr. Mark Greene on the medical hit for eight years before heading to that big emergency room in the sky back in 2002, has signed on to reprise his role for a one-episode guest stint during—when else?—November sweeps.
Show purists can rest easy that producers are only interested in resuscitating ratings, not Edwards' character, and that Dr. Greene will be appearing in flashback form.
While the character passed away from a brain tumor during a memorably weepy episode nearly six years ago, Edwards will appear in a flashback scene this time around with new series regular Angela Bassett, County General's newest attending doctor.
Adding to the guest-star spectacular, Bassett's real-life hubby, Courtney B. Vance, will also play her reel-life hubby on the show.
The episode goes into production next week and airs Nov. 13

Did you read my post in the other thread about him......I said that I still miss him on the show and now I get to see him.......YIPEE!!!!!

Oh...I'm getting all teary just thinking about that episode..with that isaac what's his name's version of Over the Rainbow. (SOB!)

I can't believe ER has been on the air for 15 years...I was in COLLEGE when it first came on! I haven't watched it regularly in several years but I catch the reruns on TNT some.

His death was the reason we quit watching. Well, that and the leaving of Dr. Ross. Boohoo!

I haven't watched the show in years. But I *might* watch that episode, if it isn't opposite something I regularly watch. I can remember that one where he died clear as day now, esp since Nikki mentioned that heart wrenching song (ty, really). Oh for the good old days.
Wouldn't it be fun if one knew how his baby was doing now, where they lived, etc? The same with the twins.

Oh, wow, I was wondering how many of the old characters would make guest spots this year. I know Dr. Carter is for sure, too. Can't wait.

NO!!!! NO.... NO... NO.

I hate it when my shows end, but I love the fact we can see Dr Greene again!!!
Im only up to season 11 so I got a couple to go yet, that makes me feel a little better.

I am so sad it is ending!!! I have watched since the first season with my mom. I was 9 or ten years old.... ah it's so sad!!! Nice that Dr Greene is making an apperience!

I really loved ER and I watched the show since the first episode.
but I don't like the (new) seasons without noah wyle :crying:
and all the other old characters :crying:

It's truly the end of an era!

You got that right.
I don't even remember how old I was when it came out. I can tell you that New York Undercover came on either right before or right after ER. Ah. The good ole days.
It is one of my favorite shows ever! I have literally seen EVERY SINGLE episode including the trailer. I will definitely miss having something to watch on Thursday night's once this ends. :crying:

I don't think I have ever cried so hard (over a TV show anyway) as the "day" Dr. Green died. I have that song on my ipod and to this day I think of that.

oh really?! now if only australia's ch.9 would start playing it again - i don't think we got much beyond the first episode with John Stamos in it!
