Embarrassing/Funny moment

Laura's thread had me wondering what other funny/embarrassing moments we share. I've been pretty down lately with my husband gone and could use the laugh.
I'll share mine if you share yours? :o

my funny/embarrassing moment-
I had to drive my husband to the bus station on base, (this was back when we lived in Korea) but had forgotten my glasses. I didn't have contacts yet so everything was a bit fuzzy. It wasn't the first time so I just kept going as I was already on base and didn't wanna turn back for them. So we get there and we are waiting for the bus. Down the road, I see this "what looks like flock of grey birds." They were all perfectly arranged. I thought this was weird but tried to ignore it. After all it had rained the night before so maybe there where an abundent amount of worms about. I don't know anything about this stuff, obviously. Well, they kept catching my eye. Eventually I found myself staring at them. They were moving all together, it was the strangest dang thing! Finally, my voice decided to come out without warning and I asked my husband, who was sitting beside me, "What on earth are those birds doing over there all synchronized like?" He busted up laughing at me, which got my attention. I turned to look at him and he was choking on his energy drink laughing. I swear it even came up his nose, which had me giggling but all this had me puzzled and I was growing angry. Eventually he calmed himself enough to share that was actually Not a flock of birds but a unit of soldiers in grey pt's doing their morning pt workout in the grass. He still makes fun of me every time he sees a flock of birds on the ground now. And even more so when we drive by soldiers doing pt.

My most embarrassing moment ever was when I was in high school.

I had an after school club, so it was me, 4 or 5 other kids, and the teacher. We had our meeting, blah blah blah, and I had to leave early for a dentist's appointment. I got up from my seat (we're all in a semi-circle talking) and notice that I had started my period and bled through my pants onto the chair. Not only were my pants stained, but the chair had a reddish-brown stain, too.

Cue mortification. I decide to leave the room backwards so they can't see the pants stain and subsequently trip over a desk and one of the kid's duffel bags. I get out of the room and tie my jacket around my waist while I wait for my mom to pick me up.

She was less than sympathetic. I believe her comment was, 'Take that off! You'll ruin the jacket!'

The club never breathed a word to me abt the incident, so no idea whether they noticed or just thought I went temporarily insane.

I know, I should come up with my own before posting again, but I can't think of one right now. I am sure there is something though that will come to me. Anyway....La, this happened to a girl in my junior high class, too, I still remember it and it wasn't me. Good on your club for not saying anything to you about it though.

Hmmm...I have a lot..probably enough for a book...one that stands out though is shortly after DH and I got engaged..I'd only met his mom and sister once before b/c they lived in another town. Well they made plans to meet me at my apartment to pick me up to go visit a florist for wedding plans and stuff. I stepped around his sister's Tahoe right into a hole and fell flat on my butt. And if that wasn't bad enough I just pretended like I was fine and walked around for 3 hours with my foot the size of a football and in horrible pain. Finally when we met DH (fiance then) later he took one look at my foot and took me to the ER..yep it was broken.

We still laugh about now it but I was so embarrassed at the time. What a way to impress my future inlaws by busting my butt and breaking a bone.

La, don't feel bad I had something similar happen on a long drive in my boyfriend at the times car. :/ pretty sure the stain is still there.

Nikki, ouch!!! :)

Mari, come on... you know you wanna share.

I'm sure I have a million, but I try to remove them from my memory ASAP. Here's one I remember, though.

When I was about 19, a friend had just moved to the city I was going to college in and we went to a party together. A guy asked for her number, and she said sorry, she didn't remember it yet. Obviously she wasn't interested and didn't want to hear from him. Unfortunately, I had one of those moments where my mouth started talking before my brain kicked in, and I gave him her number. Two seconds later thought caught up with me, and I was embarrassed to have been so clueless.

I have the most embarrassing story ever, but I don't know that I can share it for two reasons, one it is a bit x rated and two, you all would make fun of me until the end of time. This happened in college and everyone who knows the story still teases me unmercifully. Luckily I can laugh about it now, but for about two years after it happened, I just wanted to die. :o

Mine usually involve my big mouth. I remember when I started at a new job, I was trying to make conversation with one of the cute male employees. My usual ice breaker is to make people laugh and figured a good start would be to make fun of the manager...so I started talking how she seemed like such a dork. The cute male employees answer to that: "Ya, that's my sister" *insert foot into mouth*

Me too! My son is always asking if he can post what I said on fb. Apparently I am quite funny in all the wrong ways! :p

I have a few...

When I was about 13 my brothers and I spent the day with my aunt, uncle and mom. We went to the lake in the morning and were there a good chunk of the day. We came home and grabbed hot dogs for lunch and then my aunt wanted to go see a movie. It seemed like a great idea so we all headed to the movies. We were watching a double feature and I remember that the second movie was Police Academy 3. I guess if I looked up the date I would know just how old I was. Anyway... my younger brother was pretty worn out so he climbed up in to my lap and fell asleep. About halfway through the first movie he suddenly woke up and proceeded to vomit down my shirt. It was chunks of hotdog with ketchup so pretty nasty stuff. I went in to the bathroom with my mom and aunt. My mom cleaned up my brother. I was a mess. I had on WHITE pants and a hot pink tank top. Leaving was out of the question. My uncle was the kind who figured we paid to get in, we were staying. So stay we did. I handed my aunt my clothes under the stall and she washed them out and dried them the best she could under the hand dryer. We were in there probably 30 minutes or more. In the end I went back and watched the last of the movie and the next one while sitting in a room where the AC was blasting wearing wet clothes. The worst part, as we were leaving we ran into some of my friends and the whole top part of my jeans were orange where the puke just didn't come out very well. Not fun at ALL.

When I was 16 I went with my church to a function that was district wide. I grew up going to The Salvation Army church and we wore uniforms to our functions. My uniform consisted of a navy blue skirt, a white blouse and dark panty hose with black dress shoes. The first part of the day was fine. Lunch was a disaster. Somehow I managed to tip my plate of spaghetti up and basically plastered it all over my white shirt. I tried to clean it off as much as possible, but, like the previous story, I ended up with a nice orange spot. I was going to be going on stage in front of a couple hundred people and I was so embarrassed. To make matters worse, at one point I looked down and realized my hose had a big run down the leg. I knew I had a second pair back in the church van so I went to get them. When I was trying to change, I put a big hole in the second pair. I had no choice but to put the first pair back on as a run was better than a hole, right? As I was putting the second pair back on the other leg snagged. I ended up with runs down the backs of both of my legs. Runs in black hose are pretty obvious when you have super white legs. Between the runs and the big orange spot on my shirt, I was mortified. I still did what I needed to do though and lived through it.

When I was 18 we were moving from Arizona to Kansas. We flew (my first flight). I was on my period and it was at the end so I was really just spotting. However, I've always had a heavy flow so I did make sure I was well protected... or so I thought. We stood up to exit the plane and I heard my grandma gasp. She grabbed my jacket and flipped it around my waist. I looked down to see a bit spot on the seat. I mean BIG. I had been sitting with my brother so there was no other passenger to see it. She shuffled me out of the plane and we made our way to baggage claim. My grandma's brother was meeting us at the airport. He and his wife were picking up my brothers and I and driving us to his place. My grandma was going with her cousin's daughter because her cousin had passed away and she was just going to stay in Tulsa, where we landed, for the funeral. So, I finally see my bag and grab it to start rifling through it for clothes. My grandma's brother and his wife aren't too keen on waiting around and start to question what I am doing. I couldn't be discreet about it. My grandma told them what had happened while I went and changed. They didn't think anything of it but I was so embarrassed. It was just awful.

A few years back I went to a Christmas party with my husband for his job. I wore this girdle thing under my dress to help suck in the fat. It worked great... except for the fact that I put my hose on over top of the girdle. Big mistake. That thing is made of some slippery material, let me tell you. Just dropping the kids off at the sitter and the crotch of my hose was down around my knees. We drove our friend's car because DH wanted to make it a proper 'date' and going in a mustang is much more fun than going in a minivan. So, here I am down in this little car trying to pull my hose up without showing the world everything else. We get to the restaurant and I step out and realize my work was all in vain. The hose slipped again and this time they were even farther down. I could barely walk with the waist band around my thighs. We get inside and I find a bathroom and adjust myself. For some stupid reason, it didn't occur to me at this point to switch my clothes so that the hose are inside the girdle. Nope. That would have been too easy. As we are being led to our seat my hose take another trip downward. This time they are pretty stretched out from all the pulling and seriously end up somewhere around my knees. I'm trying to do this little knees together walk, holding on to my husband so I don't fall flat on my face and freaked out that someone is going to notice my hose falling out of my dress as they were getting dangerously close to the hemline of the dress. We get to the table and I have to try to figure out how to get these darn things up enough so that I can actually leave the table to go fix them. Of course they don't give us any time to chat or whatever, they immediately start in to the presentation of awards, etc. So here I am sitting with waist band of my hose somewhere around my knees while the owner of the company is giving his speech. I'm wiggling around trying to shuffle enough to pull my hose up at least as far as my hips so I can make it to the bathroom without someone catching on. FINALLY, I get the chance to go to the restroom. I had grabbed my purse and kind of used it to hide me as I clutched the panty hose through my skirt and hobbled to the bathroom. I got smart this time and rearranged myself so that the hose were under the girdle and finished out the night without any issues. No one knew what was going on other than my husband so it wasn't a public embarrassment but it sure could have been!

I scrapped about mine. Years ago. We were busy trying to teach our son to always lock his door when he gets out of the car. I was getting something out of the car and he was standing next to me. FOr some reASON he turned and opened hte car door next to us and it just so happened to be unlocked. I hurriedly closed it and told him to never ever open another persons car cause it could have an alarm. Well it just so happened that the lady coming out of the store and the owner of the car saw the whole thing and was cracking up. I felt so embarrassed but she was laughing so much. BUt of course thats not the end of it. My son mouthy as he is looked at her with the most serious face and his most serious voice and told her "You know you should alwyas lock your car door because there are bad people who will steal from you. You dont what that do you?" If I could have shrunk to an inch tall I would have. BUt she laughed at that too and thanked him for his very good reminder and left. He still has no censor in his brain at 14...if he thinks it he says it no matter how embarrasing it is for me. Its gotten a little better though. Id say the former occasion he was about 5 or 6.

Most embarrassing for me was wearing white jeans to school and starting my period (7th grade) yet nobody told me until about an hour before school let out. I was mortified. Thought my life was over. It was forgotten in a few days though. It was mostly the guys who thought it was funny. Most of the girls felt bad.
