Elf on the shelf

ok help me out here....I left my Elf hanging out on my shotglass shelf all year this year (just got hectic and he just stayed there).......how can I "revive him this year"....help me come up with something creative that my kids would believe :)

An evil elf from the South Pole came in and put a sleeping spell on your elf. You have wait until December for the spell to be broken because the elf loses it magic until December.

Wow, Liz is good.

I say he died. A new elf comes in Dec. 1st and leaves a note like "oh, snap... looks like your elf croaked. I've been sent to take his place". New Elf puts old Elf on a stretcher made from candy canes on Day 2. Day 3 he gives old Elf a 'funeral' with other household toys attending, Day 4 he buries him in the backyard, and takes on his usual work for the remainder of Dec.

See, I told you Liz was good.

Hahaha, didn't know there was such a dark side to you Brook ;)

Your kids could get a letter from Santa saying that one of his elfs is missing, wondering if they've seen him. And if they have they could sprinkle him with some christmas magic to wake him up (like grounded candy cane maybe, or cinnamon).

And on day 5 he wakes up as a zombie and starts attacking the house... Kinda like the Walking Dead elf style with lots of fake blood and guts?! :D

you know what is funny, my kids would TOTALLY get a kick out of our old elf dying and then coming back as a zombie~! they love that kind of stuff....yeah they are kinda weird like that!

OMG, you all have me cracking up here! :) I like all of your suggestions. We don't do Elf on the Shelf (we just watch the movie lol). Maybe we should try this year? Seems like a lot of work lol. Anyway, I like the sprinkling with Christmas "dust" to wake him up idea but they are all good. ;)

Thanks Brook! I have two little girls with very active imagination and I watch a lot of Disney Jr.

My kids would totally love the Zombie elf! LOL!

We don't do Elf on the Shelf. Knowing me, I would totally forget about him for days at a time. Poor, little elf.

I saw on their website, that you can "recover" an injured elf that's been touched, by sprinkling it with cinnamon. Maybe the same can apply for taking yours out of a coma...

I like the idea of zombie elf. The new elf could spend the rest of December trying to keep the zombie one from setting traps to eat everyone's brains. My kids would get a kick out of that.

We do elf on the shelf but ours is a large plush one who 'visits' at random - aka when I am reorganizing and take him out of hiding & then forget to put him back before they see him.

haha.... this is just a riot! Last year we had two elves... the Elfon, the good elf... and then Logan, the "naughty" shelf... he was always making bad choices and would get Elfon in trouble.... ;)
