SHOOT ME..i have pse 6 questions...

ok..i promise just one then...

so i have an element that i would like to put on my background paper...and there is this BOX that WON'T go away..say i have a tree...well, there is a box that it is in...and when i put in on the paper...it doesn't go away..how do i make it GO AWAY..i just want the element..not the background of the element and the element..does this make ANY sense? i am sorry...i have the BIG BOOK...but i am not having MUCH luck! ugh...maybe i need to read more and dig deeper :)

Did you just barely get version 6? You have to open up the element you want on your screen and then drag it from your canvas and drop it onto the thumbnail of your LO in the photobin. PSE 6 doesn't let you drag and drop from your photobin like PSE 5. I don't understand why they did that. Seems like a downgrade to me.
 
sounds like you are dragging the wrong way.
drag element from main window into LO in the photo bin

(or it's the other way. can't remember exactly)
 
there is a GRAVE possiblity that y'all could be my NEW BFFS ..like OH MY GOSH>...i THINK that might have actually worked..i was doing it TOTALLY basackwards :) (love that word..thanks daddy for that)

i shall return with more woes..like a template...WHAT IS THE DEAL with TEMPLATES? *in my best jerry seinfeld voice*

pse 6 is trying me..believe me :) but y'all have helped me SO much! THANKS!

ditto. i hate that they did it backward in this version. I only just recently (like a week ago, lol) found out to do it this way. before i would just copy and paste, lol.

i also don't like that when i want to install an action, i have to do it manually. in pse 5 you don't. it takes so much longer now.
 
we can commiserate togetha....party in the chat room :) haha.. i have this big book The Digital Scrapbook Teacher and am reading it..but it is BIG and i am a space case!

my other little program DIED...a moment in silence for my precious program that i loved so dearly....

ok..so back to bizness..ok..so i am going to try and dig a rabbit out of my hat with this program..who kNOWS>.i might just post something tonight with it :) haha..DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH!

sounds like I should look for PSE 5.0 on ebay or something ... although in PSE 3.0 I have to open elements and drag them to the photo bin ... so that wouldn't be new to me.

Sure sounds like there is a higher learning curve for PSE 6.0 ... why don't they have us scrappers test it for them before releasing these things???
 
what a NIGHTMARE...ugh..after 1 1/2 on ONE layout..i am done..but the problem is..i have not done ANY embellishing...i have a background, a picture, a border and a button...i did manage to figure out how to change the color of the picture..and somehow i also changed the border... it is NOT my best work :) but when i went to add more embellies..it said something about not being able to parse a file? WHO KNOWS?! i have no title for it..except UGH! cute paper and embellies and pic though..i might just find another program..or bump down to a lower pse :) i will SOMEDAY figure it out :) haha..

we can cry together though..if you still want to ...because i am terribly distraught by the whole thing! :)

Yeah, if you want to upgrade, I say get PSE 5 instead of 6. And on Amazon you can find unused copies of PSE 5 for like $30. :thumbup:

Ashli... templates are simple. Just select the layer you want to clip to, add your paper, then hit CTRL+G to group... it will clip the paper to the same shape as the layer below it. Once you know you like the placement/size of the paper, hit CTRL+E to merge. Repeat. ;)
