Eeeek... first date coming up on Sunday!

I had to start over dating in my late 40, so I get it, but you can do this. Go and have fun —it is not a commitment, just a date! You never know (PS: Even though I was not looking, I did meet the love of my life and we have been married 12 years)
 
Well.... we were supposed to meet for dinner tonight for date #2. He texted this morning and said that he has to reschedule because something came up with his sister.... and I know that they are close, so I have no reason to doubt him, but it's still a bummer. He did say that he would still like to see me later this week, so we are planning to meet on Thursday. Fingers crossed he doesn't reschedule that....

I'd definitely give him the benefit of the doubt, as he did share that he was close with his sister. I know you're disappointed, as I would be in the same situation. Crossing all crossables for Thursday to go off without a hitch!

Just catching this... how exciting, and I'm so glad it went well! Hoping you get together again Thursday! It's hard meeting people sometimes!
 
OK, so we did in fact go out last night. The date was OK but nothing fantastic. Not sure if we’ll see each other again and honestly OK either way. I am just thankful for the experience and that I had two decent dates to get myself back out there.

So glad you were able to get together! Even if nothing comes of it, it’s so brave of you to get back out there.
 
I think it's great that you went out again. At least you have made a new friend and you put yourself out there successfully.
 
Thank you all! I 100% feel ok about this.... still haven't heard from him, but whatever. His loss. ;) I will be grateful for the experience and recognizing that I can do this!
 
OK, so after reaching out to my 28 yo son and his gf, who have extensive online dating experience, I sent Thomas a message and received one back. I realized that I was having unrealistic expectations based on the fact that we've been texting daily, but honestly we don't really know each other. *sigh* I decided that I didn't want to hold onto the anger/frustration that I was feeling towards someone that I barely know lol. I feel better about the whole situation. I mean, he is someone that I would be friends with, and I'm not really sure that I feel more than that anyway.
Man, online dating requires a lot of mental energy!
