Editing Multiple Photos?????

Is there a way to edit multiple photos at once? If so, how? Is there a tutorial somewhere? I'm using one of Janet's templates and I would hate to have to edit each photo indivdually...if I have to I will but I just dread it...especially since I have a few layouts to do...Thanks!!!!!!

It depends on what program you're using, and what you want to do to them.

For instance, I have Lightroom. So if I have several photos from the same situation, I can copy and paste the settings from the first one onto the others, and then only have a small amount of tweaking to do.

When I get my photos into PS I usually batch process them. I almost always run a color popping action on them. So I go to file>automate>batch process and then in the window that pops up I tell it to work on my open files (assuming I have opened all the files I want to play with) and which action I want to run. Sometimes I'll further tweak one photo and if the adjustment layer will work on the others, I'll just drag and drop it onto the other ones.

OMG...I learned something new today!! TOTALLY can't wait to try it out!!!!

As long as only the photos are open in PS, it works perfect Angie. I usually pull my photo(s) before I decide on anything else, so this fits in my workflow. Or lately, I spend time JUST editing photos, so it works that way too. Pick the set and the action from the drop down list, tell it to work on the open files and then set the destination to "none". It'll run the action on anything that's open all at once. I usually set it and then wander off and get distracted, lol, and when I come back it's all done. :)

Col, you're my hero! lol, I had no idea that could be done. I hate spending a ton of time on a photo, then trying to get the same look to a few other photos from the same shoot - by the time I'm done with the first, I can't remember what all I did to it! I am totally gonna try this!

Don't flatten the first one you work on either. Then you can look at the settings/layers/opacities too to tweak on the other ones.

I'm not sure if PSE has a batch option Laurie. Next time you have the program open, just take a look around and see. It might be called "Batch" instead of "Automate".

Glad I could help you guys out! That automate/batch option has been SUPER helpful to me. That's how I convert all my PSD templates to TIFF too :)

I think I found it, File>Process Multiple Files, but it only has "Quick Fix" - Auto Levels, Auto Contrast, Auto Color and Sharpen. It will work on a files in a single folder, or from a camera/scanner, or files that are open in PSE at the time.

It does give the ability to rename the files as well.

I do everything to them as layered files, then when I'm done tweaking I flatten and rename them. Somewhat un-orthodox (I know a lot of people make a duplicate and then rename it so they don't save over anything accidentally), but it works for me.

Sorry my tricks won't work for you. Maybe trying googling it to see what your options are?
