Easter Basket Gift Ideas??

So I'm heading out to the store tomorrow to grab some goodies for the boys' easter baskets. I need some ideas, ladies! Cameron will be six next week and Connor just turned two. I don't want to spend a bunch of money and I don't want to get them very much candy. Any must-haves that I haven't thought of?

have they seen Horton Hears a Who? if not maybe make them a little movie basket with tickets to the show?

or or have they seen Bee Movie? It just came out on DVD this week..maybe get them some little bee antennas and indiv popcorn bags and make a fun little movie themed basket for them and have a family movie night w/it?

haha I think I might do that too...we haven't seen it..or I'll get Enchanted for the girls we LOVED that movie..even Jase liked it haha

My sis got some of Crayola's "Brightlings" thinggys to put in her dd's basket, and she is almost two...I think they are cute. I think she even picked up some bathtub paint and crayons to put in there too. Anything artsy would be good for either age.

Sidewalk Chalk
Puzzles
Bubbles
Books
I picked up Emma a package of those crazy straws shaped like bunny rabbits for like a buck a pack @ WalMart, I think theres 4 in a package.

Like Meg said...the dollar store is a good spot for stuff...Do you have a Dollar Tree nearby? They have everything for a buck! You can find all Kinds of stuff there.

Cute Idea about the Bee Movie Meg! I wish I hadnt gotten it already..that would have been soo cute!

Cars, balls, sidewalk chalk, books, bubbles. Those are some things my kiddos are getting. I also bought them those cheap little recorder instruments from Walmarts toy section. My ds (4) reminded me that the Easter bunny brought him one last year and he was pretty sure he'd bring him another one.

Amazing what will stand out in their memories.

I think all of those are great ideas...I like Meg's movie basket idea and may use that for my twins. I have no clue what to do for my older ones 14 & 10 so I am of no help here...plus we will be at a camp site on Easter so I am pretty limited to what I can do anyway. We will be doing an Easter Egg Hunt at the site though, that should be fun!!!

The year before last, I bought them each a bucket (for the beach) and filled it instead of a basket. I usually do a DVD each, their favorite candy or chocolate. Benjamin and Amelia get a DS game, Rae gets a toy since she doesn't have a DS. I put in stuff like sunglasses, Pokemon cards (ugh!), etc.

Here is what I got for my kids baskest (ages 10, 6, 3 and newborn):

bubbles
decks of cards (like old maid, memory go fish ect...)
books
a shorts set
bathing suit/swim trunks
notepad/pen set (for my girls 10 & 6)
Coloring book/crayons (for Ds age 3)
One small solid chocolate easter bunny
The baby got one outfit, a small toy and a bottle (**lol**)

Then I fill plastic easter eggs with pennies, nickles, dimes and jelly beans and they have an egg hunt for those.

i got most of the stuff at the dollar tree and the rest at Wal Mart I think I spent about $35 dollars total for the 4 kids.

I'm doing the movie thing...ran out this am..Grabbed Enchanted for Cam, Nancy Drew for Nic, Ratatouille for Jase (which I'm sure he'll protest too lol), and Bee Movie for Ryleigh. I needed to grab the movies anyways so figured I'd make them a gift haha

I think I'm going to do the movie baskets too! Well for the girls anyway, not sure what I'll do for Kyle yet. The girls certainly don't need more toys! I bought Enchanted last night when I was at Walmart since it was still on sale, I still need to figure out what other movie to get. We already have most of the other newer releases - Bee Movie, Ratatouille, Meet the Robinson's, Mariposa etc. I think we're going to head to Target today so I'll see what I can find!

I think I spent too much on Easter baskets. I got my 6yo son a set of the Matchbox cars in the eggs, a SPiderman wallet, a couple books, coloring books, new crayons, and his box of mini smidgens for candy. My 16 month old is getting matchbox cars in and out of the eggs, books, and a couple new sippy cups. Oh, and they both are gettign sunglasses. There might be a couple other things if I were to go look. It was unusually easy this year to find stuff for the boys.

Well, so far I have gotten Derrick 2 Dr. Seuss movies, an early reader SpongeBob Easter book and a solid chocolate bunny. I think I'll add a coloring book and crayons and some bubbles.

Rhett has a Webkinz. I'll probably try to find some of those template sippy cups and a little toy or two.
